The Junior Architect works under the direct supervision of the Architect and supports the architectural projects in planning, developing and implementing building designs. The role assists in compiling reports, project proposals and cost estimates. The role involves collaborating with architects, project teams, producing basic technical drawings, and ensuring design standards are met.
Assist in preparing architectural drawings, plans, and specifications.
Support the project team in the coordination of design and construction activities.
Conduct site visits to monitor progress and ensure compliance with design specifications and building codes.
Collaborate with engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to resolve design and construction issues.
Prepare reports, presentations, and documentation for project meetings.
Assist in the review of shop drawings, materials, and construction methods for compliance with design intent.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of building codes, standards, and construction best practices.
Participate in project meetings and provide input on design and construction matters.
Assist in the preparation of cost estimates and project schedules.
Basic understanding of the fundamental engineering principles of architectural design, including space planning, form, function, aesthetics, and usability.
Proficiency in using computer-aided design (CAD) software, such as AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, or similar tools, to create detailed drawings and models.
Basic knowledge of building codes, zoning laws, and other regulations that impact architectural design and construction processes.
Ability to produce precise and accurate basic technical drawings and blueprints, including plans, elevations, sections, and details.
Strong communication skills for effectively conveying design ideas and collaborating with team members, clients, and other stakeholders.
ERP knowledge preferably SAP functional skills are a requirement to be successful in this role.
0-3 years of relevant working experience.
Internship or previous experience in a construction or architectural firm.
Knowledge of project management software is plus.
Familiarity with sustainable construction practices.
