We’re looking for a Junior Applications Engineer to develop, maintain and enhance internal digital applications that support Anglian Water’s operational, safety and asset management processes. You’ll work with Power Apps, SAP-integrated tools, SQL/Oracle environments and internal systems to build intuitive, reliable solutions that streamline workflows and improve data quality across the business.
You will play a key role in updating and maintaining our internal site asset data repository, ensuring accurate integration with SAP and our Health & Safety systems. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys solving problems with technology, engaging with users, and bringing ideas to life in a fastmoving operational environment.
What you'll be doing
Develop, test and deploy Power Apps and internal applications that improve efficiency and support operational teams
Design robust back-end architecture for data storage and handling, ensure reliable integrations are in place between existing business system
Design and maintain backend data architecture using SQL/Oracle to ensure reliable integrations with SAP and other enterprise systems
Update and manage the internal site asset data repository, ensuring full synchronisation with SAP and Health & Safety systems
Troubleshoot, maintain and update existing business applications, delivering fixes and enhancements
Create dashboards to visualise operational data and supportdecisionmaking
Engage with stakeholders to gather requirements, understand user needs and support rollout of applications
Ensure all applications comply with AW data governance, cyber security and GDPR requirements
What we’re looking for
Experience with Power Apps,lowcode/nocodeplatforms or application development and experience in reading other people’s code and editing as well as building apps from scratch.
Experience with SAP, SQL, Oracle or similar enterprise systems
Microsoft knowledge in Power Automate
Sharepoint and Dataverse knowledge to help support existing apps. Experience using SharePoint Lists and SharePoint permissions.
High level of computer literacy and confidence working with new technical systems
Ability to manipulate, analyse and present data clearly, Power Bi an advantage.
Strong communication skills with ability to adapt to user needs
Ability to challenge, think differently and identify improvement opportunities
Understanding of Health & Safety considerations in digital and operational environments
Experience implementing change through technology
Knowledge or experience of creating relational databases.
Strong Excel skills.
Understanding of JSON.
