Job Description

The Data Analyst is a full-time position that supports the Data Operations Team at ISS STOXX Market Intelligence. Data Operations is responsible for collection, management, and data production inclusive of ad-hoc data projects supporting Research Analysts.

It is a crucial role that is mainly in charge of collecting, analyzing, and cleaning different types of financial data from different verified sources, type of data includes mutual funds, exchange-traded funds, segregated funds, annuities, etc. The data is then used by the business to provide industry leading data analytics for its clients to then guide them in their decision making.

Ideal candidates will have a high level of independent judgment, an incredible attention to detail and the capability to perform even in a fast-paced environment both in a team setting and autonomously. We are also looking for a candidate with great interpersonal skills as this position will require a lot of communication not just with the local teams but with our global counterparts, especially down the line. This role is ideal for someone who is looking for a position that is going to be challenging, demands high performance, but will give them hands-on experience working with large and varying data sets for the financial industry.

Responsibilities:

Daily

  • Extract data sets from different financial entities and sources based on established methodologies.

  • Properly execute established work process and performance standards to ensure timely and high-quality data.

  • Identify deviations from expected data patterns, indicate errors and unusual data results of different financial data sets available to be reported to the research teams.

  • Correct or escalate data elements based on agreed policies and methodology.

  • Participate in data quality assurance efforts, including performing root-cause analysis for identified data quality issues.

Monthly

  • Prepare final data set for arrangement and ingestion to company databases via MS Access queries or the company’s proprietary software.

  • Conduct quality assurance checks to ensure that data uploaded in the system is accurate and up to date.

  • Refresh reports by using the data uploaded by the team to then be sent and used by business and stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably business courses etc. (Fresh Graduates are encouraged to apply)

  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite, with a particular focus on Excel skills.

  • Possess the ability to learn new technology concepts.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; can thrive in a cross-border / multi-cultural work environment.

  • Ability to adapt to performing various and changing tasks throughout the workday.

  • Ability to work under pressure and a rigorous set of performance metrics.

Work Location & Schedule:

  • Amenable working at Makati City on a permanent dayshift schedule (9am– 6pm, Manila Time).

  • Amenable to go onsite full week for 3 months prior to transitioning to hybrid working arrangement.

  • Hybrid working arrangement (at least 3 days' work onsite per week)
