Job Description


The incumbent will primarily be responsible for carrying out maintenance tasks related to Repairs in Machine and Sheetmetal workshops on Aircraft/Aircraft components as directed by supervising Engineer or Approval Holder by adhering to safety & quality standards and Airworthiness authority requirements thereby contributing to operational work requirements as a responsible, productive, efficient team member.

Job Accountabilities

  • Carry out Cleaning of components, parts and equipment for repairs, Assist to carry out repairs on Aircraft Wheels related components using relevant machines, Assist to Carry out Bearing/Bush replacements on Aircraft, Aircraft components, assist to Repair of Aircraft Rigid pipes/ Flexible pipes, assist Fabrication of repair parts of Sheet Metal / Tools using relevant Machines, assist to Carry out Sheet Metal workshop related repairs as applicable, as per organizational procedures and maintenance practices and applicable maintenance Manuals such as Component Maintenance Manual, Structural Repair Manual, Aircraft Maintenance Manual, Process and Materials Specification Manual, Standard Practices Manual, Etc

  • Ensure compliance with the airworthiness requirements when carrying out repairs on Aircraft, Aircraft Parts, ensure timely completion of repairs to meet the Turn Around Times, Ensure correct interpretation of blue prints , Engineering Drawings, Identify applicable repairs using applicable Maintenance  Manuals, utilize precise measuring equipment’s and fabricate/repair the parts as per the design tolerances, Carryout any other duties assigned by the Sectional Engineer/Supervisor from time to time.

  • Maintain personal toolbox inventory, sectional tool inventory according to regulatory requirements and due care is taken in handling tools, equipment and associated spares to prevent damages and present same to the next user in an acceptable condition.

  • Maintain good housekeeping standards in work area and within the aircraft confines thereby aircraft safety is enhanced and pleasant work environment is realized.

  • At all times, comply with Company Safety Manual, Maintenance Organization Expositions (Civil Aviation Authority of Sri Lanka/European Aviation Safety Agency) and the Engineering Procedures Manual when performing duties. To reduce accidents, incidents and maintenance errors by adherence to procedures and responsible reporting to ensure safe operation of aircraft and working environment.

  • Responsible for ensuring that basic and recurrent training requirements for Maintenance Organization Exposition procedures, Human Factors, Air Legislation, Fuel Tank Safety, Electrical Wiring Interconnection System & Safety Management System are informed one month in advance to Manager Training & Standards for effective work execution.


Requirements


Six passes at GCE O/L, with 4 Credit passes (or equivalent) including Passes for English and Mathematics. The 4 credits may be obtained in any sitting.

AND

Successful completion of a minimum one (01) year trade training course in the Skilled Craftsman (Machinist) trade, with an NVQ Level 4 qualification in the relevant trade, or a Basic Aircraft Maintenance Course with a minimum course duration of one (01) year.

The upper age limit should be
35 years

as at the closing date
24th July 2026.

Employment will be offered on fixed term contract.
