What will you do   

  • Contribute to the design and implement reliable, scalable data ingestion and integration pipelines for structured, semi-structured, unstructured data (e.g., databases, files, documents, APIs, events), and multi-modal data, ensuring data is AI ready, governed, secure, and observable.
  • Experience applying data quality, validation, monitoring and testing frameworks in production pipelines. Ensure pipelines follow enterprise governance, access control, and security standards, including role-based access and lineage considerations. Monitor pipeline performance, troubleshoot failures, and optimize cost and throughput.
  • Integrate AI services (e.g., document understanding, content understanding, embeddings, search, LLM APIs) into production data workflows.
  • Operate and support production grade AI solutions to meet availability, reliability, and performance expectation.
  • Partner with business stakeholders and data scientists in translating business requirements to data provisioning solutions .
  • Accelerate development by building frameworks, automation scripts, and reusable code.
  • Develop production‑grade services using Python and REST APIs to expose data and AI capabilities.
  • Support production issues, including completion of root-cause analysis.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to understand, define, and align on data input and output requirements for AI and analytics solutions.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor Degree in Computer Science or Data Science
  • 2-3 years of relevant experience as Data Engineer
  • Exposure to generative agent data integration, agent taxonomy/labeling approaches and how to apply them to scale standardized development
  • SQL, Python, Spark
  • 2+ years of ETL/ELT development 
  • Experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and CDK for Terraform.
  • Hands-on experience across Microsoft Azure services (i.e., Fabric, Data Factory, Func apps) and AWS services.
  • Familiarity with structured and non-structured datastore technologies 
  • Ability to prioritize work and manage multiple work streams concurrently 
  • Experience in statistical data analysis (e.g. univariate/bivariate analysis) and data quality assessment

Salary

$61,600.00 - $113,900.00

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group’s expected target for the first year in this position.

BMO Financial Group’s total compensation package will vary based on the pay type of the position and may include performance-based incentives, discretionary bonuses, as well as other perks and rewards.
