Responsibilities

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assist the r Reporting Accountant in performing general ledger functions:
    • Responsible for processing, recording, maintaining, and reconciling certain groups of accounts (i.e. accruals, prepayments, or provisions)
    • Complete appropriate reconciliations not undertaken by other functions on a monthly basis in line with agreed deadlines.
    • Ensure prompt and efficient resolution of reconciliation queries.
  • Help to the EMEA Senior Reporting Accountant to complete any EMEA local GAAP statutory accounting and compliance:
    • Collaborate with the EMEA Senior Reporting Accountant in the completion and filing of statutory accounts in accordance with local laws and regulations.
    • Liaising with the external auditors to ensure completion of audit of financial statements.
    • Liaising with other external consultants when required (i.e. TAX advisors or other accounting services).
  • Help with internal and external audit requirements for assigned areas and support the audit process.
  • Ensure processes and procedures are fully documented and completed in a standardised manner across all of Europe.
  • Support best practice and lean initiative improvements in the function, including automation of processes.
  • Support other areas of finance and reporting team, as required.

  • Ability to collaborate and work with teams remotely across different countries and cultures.
  • Create a strong relationship with team and across region to ensure an efficient process.
  • Support change and innovation, leading to improvements in the function.
  • Facilitates effective team interaction and collaboration on both a regional, divisional, and global basis.

Environmental, Safety, Risk & Compliance

  • Have adequate knowledge of health and safety regulation within their areas of control, observe the legislation and codes of practice, ensure all statutory registers and records are maintained.
  • Champion the ‘ThinkSafe’ initiative and lead by example always.
  • Champion the Morgan Code and promote an ethical culture at all times.
  • Support improvement of the internal control environment throughout the region, including ensuring that all internal and external audit control findings are closed out in a timely manner.

Qualifications

  • Reconciliation & corporate reporting experience
  • Good inter-personal skills with the ability to work with a diverse team
  • Ability to work independently and flexibly, whilst using initiative to achieve desired goals
  • Methodical, organised and an eye for detail
  • Persistence, ability not to accept no for an answer
  • Good time management
  • Able to maintain confidentiality
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel
  • Experience of working with teams remotely in different countries/with different cultures
  • Experience of financial reporting, analysis and controls within a global multinational manufacturing business
  • Experience of improving processes, procedures and systems
  • Knowledge of global multinational reporting systems
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics or similar global ERP system
