Job Description

The team behind some of Sydney’s favourite food and hospitality brands, including Norma’s Deli, ButterBoy and Rollers, is looking for a sharp, tech-savvy finance professional to join the HQ team.

About the role

Reporting to our Chief Financial Officer, you’ll support financial reporting, analysis, systems and day-to-day finance across the group. This is a hands-on role, ideal for someone early in their accounting or finance career who loves numbers, is confident with technology and enjoys making processes work better.

You won’t just be processing transactions. You’ll play an active part in improving our systems, sharpening our reporting and helping the business make better decisions.

What you’ll be doing

As a Junior Finance/ Accounting Assistant, you’ll be working alongside our finance team in our Manly office with day-to-day tasks including:

  • Managing end-to-end accounts payable for allocated businesses, including invoice processing, coding, approvals and payment preparation
  • Completing bank and financial reconciliations and investigating discrepancies
  • Supporting month-end processes, balance sheet reconciliations and preparing financial information for the Chief Financial Officer
  • Preparing weekly sales, gross profit and performance reporting across our business channels
  • Analysing sales, costs, inventory and other key metrics to spot trends, variances and opportunities
  • Assisting with budget monitoring and lease administration
  • Acting as a go-to support person for our finance and business systems, including NetSuite, Square, and Ordermentum
  • Helping implement, integrate and optimise our finance, POS, inventory and operational systems
  • Turning financial data into clear, practical insights for Directors, Business Managers and non-finance teams
  • Building strong relationships with internal teams, suppliers, external accountants and system providers

What we’re looking for

The successful candidate will ideally hold:

  • A degree in accounting or finance, completed or in progress
  • Intermediate Excel skills and strong MS Office experience
  • Experience with NetSuite, reporting, and AI tools like Claude (highly regarded)
  • A highly organised, analytical mind with great attention to detail
  • Confidence with technology and a curiosity about how systems fit together
  • The ability to explain numbers clearly to people outside finance
  • Someone who works independently, prioritises well and handles confidential information with integrity

Whether you are currently studying a relevant degree, are newly graduated or have already made your first steps into a career in finance, we would love to hear from you.

Why join us?

  • Exposure to a diverse group of food, retail, wholesale and hospitality brands
  • Real input into how our systems and processes evolve
  • A role with genuine scope to grow your career in finance
  • A wide range of employee perks, including discounts across our venues, regular culture activities, and barista coffees

Role type: Part-time, 2-3 days per week (full-time available for the right candidate)

Salary: $55,000-$70,000 per annum + super (based on a 38-hour week, pro rata for part-time), depending on experience
