Junior Accountant – Build Your Career with a Leading Regional Accounting Firm

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Junior Accountant to join our growing team in Townsville. About the Role

As a Junior Accountant, you will work closely with our Senior Advisors and Managers to support a broad range of taxation, accounting and business advisory services, including:

• Preparation of income tax returns and financial statements for individuals, companies, trusts and partnerships.
• Assisting with Business Activity Statements (BAS), Instalment Activity Statements (IAS) and ATO reporting requirements.
• Supporting senior team members with taxation and business advisory engagements.
• Liaising with clients to obtain information and assist with accounting and taxation queries.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of financial transactions.
• Reconcile bank statements and other accounts.
• Developing your technical knowledge and practical account skills through ongoing mentoring and training.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• An Australian recognised Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting) or equivalent qualification.
• Full and unrestricted work rights in Australia.
• Highly recommended 1-3 years' experience within public practice accounting.
• A strong desire to build a long-term career in taxation and business advisory.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• A positive attitude, willingness to learn and commitment to delivering outstanding client service.
• Commenced or intending to commence CA or CPA studies (highly regarded).
