Our head office located in Kingsville, ON is currently seeking a Junior Accountant to join our team. The accountant will work to prepare, analyze, and review financial statements using generally accepted accounting principles. Preparation of reports and summaries for management to track and understand organizational performance. The accountant will also work closely with others in the finance department to make recommendations based on analyses of trends in the data and other ad hoc projects upon request.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Reconciles accounts, posts journal entries, and maintains a complete and accurate general ledger in accordance with accounting principles and reporting schedules so that the organization has a full and accurate statement of its financial position
• Prepares financial reports, accounting statements and other documents that project the organization's financial position
• Reviews financial statements for completeness, accuracy and compliance with relevant regulations, laws, and reporting requirements
• Provides technical accounting advice to functional or operational managers to help them develop budgets, understand financial reports, and manage their financial responsibilities.
• Oversees accounting operations, accounts receivable and accounts payable
• Coordinates accounting matters with other departments

Education/Background Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree with major in accounting or finance required

Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

• Strong computer proficiency (Excel); experience with Microsoft Navision or similar ERP system a plus.
• Demonstrate a desire to learn, possess a good attitude, and work well independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent analytical, oral, and written communication skills, ability to exercise initiative, good judgment, and pay close attention to detail.
• Understand the relationship between Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and the general ledger.
• Ability to interact with other employees in professional manner to resolve invoice approval and coding questions
• Ability to recognize issues, make recommendations, and seek guidance for solutions/improvements.
• Ability to create reports and present information

• Working conditions are normal for an office environment.

Salary is $60k/yr CAD
