
TITLE: Junior Accountant
DEPARTMENT: Finance
STATUS: Full-Time, Non-Exempt
PAY RATE: $29.70
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Process daily deposit (THQ, CFOT, and ARC)-by scanning checks to lockbox vendor, bank and other miscellaneous sites.
A/R duties for THQ and Silvercrest: invoicing and processing payments.
Scan dispute bank notices & lockbox returned items.
Research checks received, ACH items, and cash receipts
Mail or e-mail AR statements monthly and follow up on payments.
Maintain daily check log of all deposits and postings to accounting system to file in journal repository
Process miscellaneous loan payments including– student loans.
Sort donations to submit to lockbox vendor
Reconcile and post ARCC-Deluxe, Classy Pay and PayPal donations.
Reconcile/post telephone and internet billing from telecom vendor
Miscellaneous journals (research, preparation & post)- telecom vendor -THQ & ARCC
Post daily automatic journals, IC, IG, IP, IW, IY in Shelby.
Sort & mail employee and retired officer’s paychecks and paychecks
Perform other accounting tasks assigned if needed.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Minimum 2 years’ experience in management accounting.
Experience in use of Windows PC and MS Office applications.
PREFERRED SKILLS
MS Excel – familiar with the creation and use of advanced spreadsheet tools and complex formulas.
MS Word and Outlook – good written and oral communication skills. Able to complete business correspondence with proper etiquette and grammar.
Experience with Shelby software a plus.

Must be self-motivated, able to work with minimal supervision, adaptable, work well with a team and able to handle confidential matters with discretion.
