The Iowa Judicial Branch, in Linn County, seeks applicants for a Judicial Operations Clerk within the Clerk of Court Office to perform the clerical support and customer service for efficient court operations and the integrity of court records.
This position places a strong emphasis on performing bookkeeping and cashiering functions in accordance with Judicial Branch auditing procedures and financial policies. The role requires frequent communication with judges, court staff, and external agencies through phone, email, and in-person interactions. Key responsibilities include receipting and disbursing payments in compliance with court orders and financial documentation, balancing daily receipts, and completing monthly financial reconciliations to ensure accuracy and accountability. The position also involves processing a variety of case-related documents, including orders, warrants, motions, complaints, bonds, and exhibits, to maintain accurate and efficient court records. In addition, this role provides customer service to court users both in person and by telephone, assisting with general inquiries, payment processing, and questions related to case procedures.
Success in this position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, financial accuracy, the ability to effectively communicate with a diverse range of individuals while supporting court operations, and ability to learn and navigate court record-specific computer programs and technology.
What’s in it for you:
The pay range for this position is $21.98 - $34.74 per hour. This is a contract-covered, FLSA non-exempt position. The starting salary for new state employees is expected to be at the base of the pay range. Adjustments may be made if the successful candidate has relevant experience.

The incumbent must meet the minimum requirements to qualify for the position.
Experience may be substituted with related education on the basis that successful completion of thirty (30) semester hours or academic equivalent equals one year of experience.
