We are seeking a motivated and experienced Junior Sous Chef to join our Boston team, supporting the senior kitchen leadership in delivering LPM’s culinary standards and ensuring smooth daily kitchen operations.
As Junior Sous Chef, you will support the Executive Chef, Senior Sous Chef, and Sous Chef in the day-to-day running of the kitchen. You will help lead the team during service, ensure consistency in preparation and plating, maintain high standards of food safety and cleanliness, and support junior team members in their development.
This role is ideal for a strong Chef de Partie or experienced Junior Sous Chef ready to grow within a high-volume, upscale restaurant environment.
Support the senior kitchen team in preparing and executing menu items to LPM standards.
Ensure consistency, quality, and presentation of dishes during preparation and service.
Supervise assigned sections during daily operations, including prep, cooking, plating, and service.
Support, train, and guide Commis Chefs and Demi Chefs de Partie.
Assist with mise en place planning and ensure sections are ready for service.
Maintain high standards of cleanliness, organization, and hygiene across all kitchen areas.
Ensure compliance with Massachusetts food safety and health regulations, including proper food storage, handling, and preparation.
Follow OSHA workplace safety standards and support a safe working environment.
Monitor product quality and report any shortages, wastage, or operational issues to senior chefs.
Assist with stock rotation, inventory control, and minimizing food waste.
Support the senior team with kitchen workflow improvements and operational efficiency.
Maintain a positive, professional, and respectful working environment.
Ensure all team members follow LPM standards, recipes, and kitchen procedures.
Minimum 3 years of experience in a high-volume, upscale or fine dining kitchen.
Previous experience as a Chef de Partie, Senior Chef de Partie, or Junior Sous Chef preferred.
Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, plating, and kitchen organization.
Ability to supervise a section and support junior team members.
Good understanding of food safety, hygiene standards, and kitchen health regulations.
Familiarity with Massachusetts food safety regulations and OSHA standards is an advantage.
Strong attention to detail, consistency, and presentation.
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
