About the role:
For more than one hundred years now, the Electrolux Group has been working at shaping living for the better, developing products that meet people’s demands in terms of taste, care and wellbeing. But as consumer needs and wants continue to evolve, we have even more work to do. It's our R&D teams that ensure our company stays at the forefront of innovation, investigating and making use of the latest technology in order to enable our company to keep delivering outstanding experiences.
What you’ll do:
We are looking for a Product Development Engineer – Care, who will work within the Architecture team on the development of new and existing components and systems for Fabric Care products, with a strong emphasis on Front‑Load washing machines (global platforms) and Dryers. The role may also support Top‑Load projects when needed. This position requires close collaboration with global engineering teams, especially Module Leaders, ensuring alignment of technical solutions across regions. Although the reporting line will be local, the role involves substantial interaction with international teams, supporting global product strategies and
development cycles.
In detail, you will:
- Provide strong technical expertise in mechanical engineering, materials, simulation, manufacturing, and assembly technologies.
- Lead the development of components and subsystems for Front‑Load washing machines (global platforms), ensuring technical feasibility, cost optimization, quality enhancement, and innovation.
- Support development activities for Top‑Load washers as required.
- Collaborate with global Module Leaders to ensure synchronization of technical definitions and execution strategies.
- Conduct technical reviews to ensure compliance with internal standards, project requirements, and global guidelines.
- Lead or participate in problem‑solving activities, root‑cause analysis, and improvement actions, supporting cross‑functional engineering teams.
- Ensure all technical documentation — CAD models, 2D drawings, specifications, reports — is accurate, complete, and up‑to‑date.
- Participate in global Design Reviews, DFMEA assessments, DFM/DFA evaluations, and decision‑making processes.
As part of the culture of continuous improvement, you will be involved in Lean Thinking projects and activities (EMS/EAI).
Who you are:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
- Experience in product engineering or R&D.
- Experience working with Washing Machines (Front‑Load and/or Top‑Load) — Front‑Load experience is strongly preferred.
- Hands‑on experience developing plastic and metallic parts.
- Proficiency with 3D modeling software (CATIA V5 or Siemens NX preferred); SolidWorks or Pro‑E/Creo is a plus.
- Knowledge of module‑based development, stage‑gate processes, DFMEA, DFA, and structured Design Reviews.
- Knowledge of injection molding, extrusion, thermoforming, and sheet‑metal processes.
- Advanced English.
Where you’ll be:
You will be based at the Guabirotuba plant in Curitiba. One of the focal points for all Latin American Electrolux operations, this plant is the base for over 3200 collaborators, all focused on transforming the way the world lives by shaping lives for the better with their work.
In order to create a culture of inclusion and care for everyone's wellbeing, we offer the following benefits:
