The Jr. Microbiologist will be responsible for performing routine microbiological analyses on various samples according to established protocols and quality standards, ensuring accurate and timely results to support testing operations.

Job Responsibilities**

* Execute a variety of microbiological tests including but not limited to bacterial enumeration, identification, and sterility testing of food, water, and environmental samples.
* Prepare media, reagents, and samples for analysis following standard operating procedures (SOPs).
* Operate and maintain laboratory equipment such as incubators, autoclaves, microscopes, and spectrophotometers.
* Document all test results accurately and meticulously, maintaining detailed laboratory records and logs.
* Interpret test results and identify any deviations or anomalous findings, escalating issues to senior staff as necessary.
* Adhere strictly to all quality control (QC) and quality assurance (QA) guidelines, ensuring compliance with relevant industry standards (e.g., ISO 17025).
* Participate in internal and external proficiency testing programs.
* Assist in the calibration and maintenance of laboratory instruments.
* Ensure a clean, organized, and safe working environment, following all health and safety regulations.
* Collaborate effectively with team members and communicate findings clearly.

Job Qualifications**

* Bachelor's degree in Microbiology, Biotechnology, or a related scientific field.
* 2-6 years of experience in a microbiology laboratory setting, preferably in a testing or quality control environment.
* Strong theoretical and practical understanding of microbiological techniques and principles.
* Familiarity with laboratory safety protocols and good laboratory practices (GLP).
* Proficiency in using basic laboratory equipment and instruments.
* Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
* Good written and verbal communication skills in English.
* Basic computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
