ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a sharp, self-directed Accounting Manager or Sr. Accountant to help scale our finance function and support continued business growth. This role will own the month-end close, keep the balance sheet tight, and serve as a key contributor to the Sage Intacct implementation and post-acquisition integration work. The successful candidate will thrive in a fast-moving environment and bring curiosity and initiative to build things the right way from the start. This position reports directly to the Atlas Power Partners VP, Controller and will operate with limited supervision.

The Senior Accountant plays a critical role in ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance within a fast-paced, expanding M&A environment. This position is responsible for overseeing end to-end accounting processes, including general ledger management, reconciliations, month-end and year-end closing, and preparation of financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP.

The successful candidate will be a self-starter who can identify problems, develop solutions, and work independently when required. This role requires strong analytical skills and attention to detail. As the company grows, this role will expand and may ultimately provide guidance and leadership to a team of staff accountants.


KEY RESPONSISBILITIES

  • Own the Month-End Close: Run and manage the full month-end close process across operating entities, driving toward a compressed close calendar. Ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of all journal entries and period-end deliverables.
  • Balance Sheet Integrity: Prepare and maintain monthly balance sheet reconciliations for all accounts. Identify and resolve variances with a sense of urgency and document findings clearly.
  • KPI Reporting: Update and maintain weekly KPI dashboards that give leadership real-time v isibility into financial and operational performance across entities.
  • Sage Intacct Implementation: Serve as a hands-on contributor to our Sage Intacct ERP implementation (8/1/26 go-live), including workflow testing and user acceptance testing.
  • Post-Acquisition Integration: Support the accounting and finance integration of newly acquired companies, including opening balance sheet setup, chart of accounts mapping, and transitioning entities onto the platform's close process and systems.
  • Process Improvement: Identifying and implementing ways to improve accounting efficiency and accuracy through process enhancements and the use of accounting software and systems.


SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting required
  • 8–10 years of progressive accounting experience including demonstrated ownership of the month-end close process required
  • CPA and public accounting experience a plus
  • Multiple years of experience with U.S. GAAP a strong plus
  • Cash to accrual-based accounting experience is a plus.
  • Strong Excel skills are required. Experience with QuickBooks online and Sage Intacct a plus
  • Strong operational execution and organizational skills required
  • Excellent communication and strong English skills are critical
  • Small/Medium Business work experience preferred (reports to Controller)
