Job Description

BBCH SS, LLC is expanding its workforce and is seeking a Junior Estimator to support self-performed structural repair and restoration projects to support our Contracting Specialists Incorporated (CSI) company. The Junior Estimator supports the estimating team in preparing accurate cost estimates and competitive project bids. Responsibilities include reviewing plans and specifications, performing quantity take-offs, coordinating subcontractor pricing, maintaining estimate documentation, and assisting with proposal preparation and bid reviews. This role works closely with Senior Estimators to support successful and timely project submissions.

This is a US based remote position.
Salary Range: $60,000-80,000/annual
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
The Essential Duties and Responsibilities are intended to present a descriptive list of the range of duties, but not all duties performed for this position. Other duties may be assigned.
• Assist Senior Estimators with preparing detailed cost estimates for construction projects by reviewing plans, specifications, and project scope.
• Participate in site walks and pre-bid meetings to gather project information and support estimate development.
• Perform quantity take-offs and organize estimate data using established bid structures and estimating software/tools.
• Identify scope gaps, uncertainties, and potential risks; prepare and track RFIs related to pricing, access, materials, or constructability concerns.
• Support development of preliminary project schedules, task durations, and phasing plans as required for estimates and proposals.
• Solicit pricing and bid information from subcontractors and vendors while maintaining communication throughout the bidding process.
• Review subcontractor and supplier quotes for completeness, scope alignment, and pricing accuracy.
• Verify applicable tax rates, labor considerations, and other project-specific cost impacts based on project location.
• Maintain organized estimating documentation, bid files, exclusions, and supporting backup information.
• Participate in bid review meetings and assist with final pricing adjustments and proposal preparation.
• Compile, format, and support submission of project proposals in accordance with company standards and deadlines.
Minimum Qualifications:
To perform this position successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The qualifications listed are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
• Candidates with a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Construction Management may be given preference
• 3+ years of construction estimating experience, ideally in a related industry involving concrete repair and/or self-performing projects
• Demonstrated ability to support a team to estimate projects of moderate complexity up to $10 Million
• Ability to prepare estimates by calculating various statistical data such as quantity take-offs, material price lists, labor costs per man-hour, equipment costs and applying to complete scope of work
• Previous experience managing projects that include structural concrete repair, waterproofing, concrete strengthening, and/or industrial maintenance projects are plus.
Additional Qualifying Factors:
As a condition of employment, you will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening (post accepted offer) and have acceptable background check results. If applicable to the contract, you must also obtain the appropriate clearance levels required and be able to obtain access to military installations.

This position requires the ability to maneuver around work sites, see, hear, and verbally communicate with co-workers and clients. Essential and marginal functions may require maintaining physical condition necessary for bending, stooping, sitting, walking or standing for prolonged periods of time; frequent opportunity to move about and to work outside the office environment for extended periods involving exposure to the elements with weather that will include extreme heat, cold, wind, rain or other inclement weather, walking over rough and uneven surfaces, and routine lifting of up to 35 pounds. If required, must properly use personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times including but not limited to: hard hats, steel toed boots, eye protection, respiratory protection, and hearing protection. Must always maintain a constant state of mental alertness.
Working Conditions
Job is performed in a combination of office and outdoor site locations. The office setting includes exposure to computer screens and requires extensive use of a computer, keyboard, and mouse. Outdoor settings include walking, driving, and carrying supplies throughout all seasons with exposure to heat and cold conditions, and potentially wildlife. Is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals and loud noise.
