ABOUT THE ROLE

The Jr. Design Consultant is a full-time role serving as a key support resource within the showroom, providing exceptional customer service, product guidance, and sales support to clients and internal partners. This role is responsible for managing sample fulfillment, supporting showroom operations, maintaining stockroom organization, and assisting clients with product selection. As an individual contributor, the Junior Design Consultant plays an important role in delivering a positive customer experience while ensuring operational excellence and efficient showroom support.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Assist clients with product selection by providing guidance on patterns, colors, trims, and available product options.
  • Support sales efforts through suggestive selling and product recommendations that align with client needs and project requirements.
  • Coordinate special product requests and custom assignments for showroom clientele.
  • Fulfill, package, and ship memo sample requests for the territory
  • Prepare, customize, measure, and cut product samples to support client projects and sales opportunities.
  • Generate and process reserves, quotations, and customer orders accurately and efficiently.
  • Maintain showroom displays and product presentations to ensure an organized and visually appealing environment.
  • Manage stockroom organization, inventory of memo samples, and product storage to support operational efficiency.
  • Assist with inventory audits and inventory-related activities as needed.
  • Partner with Outside Sales Associates by preparing sample packages, supporting client presentations, and fulfilling showroom requests.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to ensure timely fulfillment of customer needs and operational requirements.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement efforts that enhance showroom operations and customer experience.

Requirements

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Education & Experience

Required

  • Associate or Bachelor's Degree.
  • 1–3 years of customer service, retail, showroom, hospitality, or sales support experience.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.

Preferred

  • Showroom, design industry, or luxury goods experience.
  • Interior design, textiles, furnishings, or related industry knowledge.
  • Experience supporting sales teams and customer-facing environments.

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience with order entry, CRM, or inventory management systems preferred.
  • Ability to accurately measure, cut, prepare, and organize product samples.
  • Basic understanding of interior design, textiles, trims, or luxury furnishings preferred.

Salary

$50K to $54K

Samuel & Sons, in good faith, believes that this posted range of compensation is the accurate range for this role at this location at the time of this posting. Samuel & Sons may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, depending on candidate qualifications. This range may be modified in the future.
