About this position: Jr. Contract Specialist Location – Arlington, VA

Wage/Salary Range: $70k - $79k

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Program Managers and program offices) in conducting both pre-and post-award contracting activities
  • Assist with development of acquisition packages/documents (Requests for Proposals, Statements of Work/Performance Work Statements, Independent Government Cost Estimates, Justification and Approvals, Source Selection Evaluation Plan, Market Research, etc.); review of these documents for quality, clarity, and adherence to applicable regulations (Federal Acquisition Regulation, Department regulations, etc.) and recommendation of revisions.
  • Conduct research of available suppliers and compare the services and costs of obtaining support from the different providers.
  • Provide guidance to contracting staff on conducting market research to identify potential sources and contract vehicles.
  • Prepare written documentation for market research.
  • Work with evaluators and government contracting officers to identify pre-negotiation objectives and assist with discussions with offerors. Supported preparation of final contract award documents for signature by the contracting officer and Contracting Officer Representative designation letters
  • Assist government contract specialist/contracting officers by updating and maintaining official contract files.
  • Prepare correspondence or documentation for signature, distribute those actions to the appropriate offices for action, track and provide the status to the contracting officer/ Contracting Officer Representative.
  • Ensure appropriate funding and required waivers, certifications, approvals and compliance have been obtained for purchase requests.
  • Be Well-versed with office equipment, such as fax machines, scanners, videoconferencing systems and photocopiers.
  • Use computer word processing, spreadsheet, and database software to prepare reports, memos, and documents
  • Reply to general information requests with the accurate, well-researched information of behalf of both the Executive Admin and Overseas teams
  • Maintain detailed records of each request processed and awarded, alongside outstanding invoices and completed or in-progress deliveries.
  • Maintain accurate records by collecting and documenting timely and past-due orders and invoices

Required (Minimum Necessary) Qualifications

  • Education Requirements: High School Diploma or GED
  • Level of Experience Requirements: And/or 2 years combined experience in Business, Administration, Legal and other Contract specialist related fields

Preferred

  • Must have Secret clearance

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • This position will not have supervisory responsibilities.

Additional Qualifying Factors

As a condition of employment, you will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening and have acceptable background check results. If applicable to the contract, you must also obtain and maintain the appropriate clearance levels required and must also be able to obtain access to military installations.
