The Journeyperson Pump Mechanic IV assembles, services, maintains, evaluates, repairs, and installs reciprocating plunger pumps to include but not limited to gear boxes, power end assemblies and fluid end assemblies.
Additional Information:
- Pay: $45.00 - $51.70/Hour. Will be adjusted with experience.
- Shift Hours: Monday – Friday 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
- Overtime as needed, may fall on a Saturday
- Relocation is not available for this position

What you will do:
- Performs all the duties of a Pump Mechanic I, II and III
- Demonstrated leadership skills
- Job preparation and completion
- Maintaining flow of customer product through the shop
- Quality control of customer flow control product
- Strong customer relations
- Final inspection of pump Troubleshoots, disassembles, and performs a detailed evaluation to determine repair needs and root cause analysis for the following: TWS 2250, QWS 2500, TWS 600 short, TWS 600 standard, QWS 1000, QEM 3000, WS 335
- Operate and utilize various hand and pneumatic tools
- Submit list of corrective needs and associated materials
- Clean and remove debris in preparation for re-assembly
- Document serial numbers, part numbers and heat codes as required per SOP
- Follow SOPs for proper assembly while adhering to engineering specifications
- Assemble all components ensuring alignment and proper fit before bolting, screwing, or pressing together
- Install various moving parts such as plungers, pins and bearings making sure to test for free movement
- Operate forklift to move materials between work centers
- Operate acetylene torch and perform hot work
- Utilize all required PPE
- Verify conformance to specifications
- Maintain clean and safe work area
- Performs other routine duties as requested

- Proficient in customer relations
- When the manager/supervisor is not present, assigns duties to complete all necessary daily service center work
- Revises work assignments to meet production schedules priorities.
- Explain service center procedures and specifications and demonstrates use of equipment and testing to new employees
- Assists workers in resolving technical problems
- Consults with technical personnel and managers/supervisors to report and resolve assembly and testing problems and reports unresolved problems.
- Obtains and distributes supplies, materials, and equipment such as components and parts used for work, assembly, test, and inspection specifications. Test equipment, fixtures, and hand tools.
- Reports on substandard equipment performance to supervisor or maintenance personnel
- Substitutes for absent workers and assists workers to alleviate work overload
- Understand all customer contractual requirements
- Consults with manager/supervisor and reviews service center schedules.
- Knowledge of Syteline: Transfer Orders, Receiving Order, Customer Estimates
- Performs other routine duties as requested
What you will have:
- One to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Working knowledge of oil and gas equipment
Top Candidates will have:
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Have a clean driving record, which generally means:
- No more than (2) moving violations within the last 12 months.
- No more than three (3) moving violations in the past three (3) years.
Physical Demands:
- Frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear
- Required to sit; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
- Must be able to wear protective footwear and other Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required by the department
Work Environment:
- Regularly exposed to fumes or airborne particles
- Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions
- Occasionally exposed to high, precarious places and vibration
- Noise Level: Moderate

Pay Range:
$45.00 - $51.70
Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
