Position Overview

Rolling Mix Concrete is looking for a Journeyperson Millwright to join our maintenance team at our concrete plant. In this role, you'll be responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of plant machinery and equipment, helping keep our production operations running safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on plant equipment, including conveyors, mixers, batching systems, pumps, and hydraulic/pneumatic systems
  • Diagnose mechanical failures and carry out repairs to minimize downtime
  • Install, align, and calibrate new and existing machinery and equipment
  • Fabricate and repair parts and components as needed, including welding and machining
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics and detailed repair drawings related to plant equipment
  • Dismantle and reassemble equipment when required for repair or transportation
  • Move equipment to appropriate site for repair or maintenance
  • Participate in planned shutdowns and equipment overhauls
  • Follow all applicable safety procedures, including lockout/tagout, working at heights, and confined space entry
  • Identify and report potential equipment issues before they result in failures
  • Collaborate with other trades, operators, and the maintenance team to support production goals
  • Respond to breakdowns and emergency repairs as required
  • Align and calibrate machinery and equipment parts as required for efficient and safe operation
  • Perform manual labour responsibilities throughout the plant when needed
  • Perform general housekeeping and yard work
  • Attend meetings and wear PPE while on site, etc.
  • Participate in Company Safety program and initiatives
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Journeyperson millwright designation
  • 2+ years of previous experience
  • Strong mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic troubleshooting skills
  • Working knowledge of welding and fabrication
  • Valid drivers license and clean drivers abstract
  • WHIMIS training is an asset
  • CSTS Certification is preferred
  • Prior experience on concrete plants is preferred
  • Must be able to be clean shaven for work- a mask fit is required for employment

Hours of Work

Hours of work in this position may vary and could include hours worked Monday through Sunday

Overtime may be required to support operations from time to time, especially during the busy construction season.

Work Environment

This position is plant based and often works outdoors exposed to the elements.

Millwrights are frequently required to lift up to 50lbs, bend, crawl, kneel, and other physical movements.
