Job Description

West Fraser offers a range of exciting career opportunities for individuals seeking challenging and rewarding careers. Cariboo Pulp is currently recruiting for a Journeyperson Carpenter.

Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, the Carpenter will be responsible for working safely in all areas on the mill site. They will be a key player in company-wide continuous improvement efforts.

You'll Do:

  • Scaffolding
  • Building repairs and maintenance
  • Building and repairing cabinets
  • Office renovations
  • Office furniture assembly
  • Forming and concrete work
  • Equipment base grouting

You have:

  • A valid Red Seal Carpenter certification
  • Masonry and Scaffolding experience
  • Heavy industry experience
  • Commitment to working safely and creating a safe work place
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Able to work independently as well as part of a team
  • A valid Class 5 Drivers License

Compensation Package:

  • The hourly pay rate for this position will follow the collective agreement between Unifor 1115 and Cariboo Pulp Ltd., which is currently $48.66/hour.
  • Outstanding benefits package including medical, dental, pension, life insurance, disability, accident insurance, vacation, and holidays.
