Journeyman Plumber
Location: Texas
Employment Type: Full-Time
Reports To: Master Plumber / Plumbing Supervisor
The Journeyman Plumber is responsible for independently performing skilled plumbing work in the installation, maintenance, inspection, and repair of residential, commercial, and industrial plumbing systems. This position requires a valid Journeyman Plumber license issued by the Texas State Board of Plumbing Examiners. The Journeyman ensures all work complies with Texas state plumbing codes, local regulations, and company safety standards while delivering high-quality workmanship and professional customer service.

Key Responsibilities
- Install, repair, and maintain water supply, drainage, waste, vent, and gas piping systems
- Perform plumbing system rough-ins for new construction and remodeling projects
- Install and service plumbing fixtures, water heaters, boilers, pumps, and related equipment
- Diagnose and troubleshoot plumbing system issues and implement effective solutions
- Interpret blueprints, building plans, and plumbing schematics
- Conduct system testing, inspections, and code compliance checks
- Ensure compliance with state and local plumbing codes and OSHA safety standards
- Supervise and mentor Apprentice Plumbers as assigned
- Accurately document labor, materials, and service reports
- Maintain clean, safe, and organized job sites
- Provide professional communication with clients, contractors, and inspectors
Qualifications
- Active Journeyman Plumber license issued by the Texas State Board of Plumbing Examiners
- Minimum 4+ years of plumbing experience (or as required by state licensing standards)
- Strong knowledge of Texas plumbing codes and regulations
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
- Proficiency with plumbing tools, equipment, and testing devices
- Valid Texas driver’s license with acceptable driving record
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in confined spaces, heights, and varying weather conditions

Work Environment
