Job Description
Houston Industrial Tradesmen is seeking experienced Journeyman Pipefitters for immediate full-time opportunities. We are looking for skilled professionals with experience in industrial, refinery, petrochemical, manufacturing, or commercial environments who can accurately install, fabricate, assemble, and maintain piping systems while working safely and efficiently.
Responsibilities:
- Install, assemble, fabricate, and repair carbon steel, stainless steel, and alloy piping systems
- Read and interpret isometric drawings, P&IDs, blueprints, and spool drawings
- Measure, cut, bevel, thread, and prepare pipe for installation
- Perform precise pipe fit-up using hand and power tools
- Install valves, flanges, fittings, supports, and related piping components
- Work closely with welders to ensure proper fit-up and alignment
- Verify measurements, elevations, and pipe layouts according to project specifications
- Perform hydro testing and assist with system pressure testing as required
- Maintain a clean and organized work area while following OSHA and company safety procedures
- Work efficiently to meet production schedules and project deadlines
Requirements:
- Journeyman Pipefitter experience in industrial or commercial construction
- Ability to read and interpret isometric drawings, blueprints, P&IDs, and weld symbols
- Experience fitting carbon steel, stainless steel, and alloy piping
- Proficient with pipe cutting, threading, beveling, and layout
- Experience using hand tools, power tools, pipe machines, grinders, and precision measuring equipment
- Knowledge of pipe supports, hangers, valves, flanges, and piping systems
- Ability to work from detailed drawings with minimal supervision
- Strong understanding of OSHA safety standards and safe work practices
- Reliable transportation and excellent attendance
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs., climb ladders, work in confined spaces, and perform physically demanding work
- Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and varying shifts as project demands require
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3+ years of industrial pipefitting experience preferred
- NCCER Pipefitter Certification is a plus
- TWIC Card preferred
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 preferred
- Experience in refineries, petrochemical plants, manufacturing facilities, or commercial construction
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
