Journeyman Electrician

  • Summary of Duties: Performs the full range of electrical installation, modification, repair, troubleshooting, and maintenance tasks under the technical direction of the Master Electrician, including transformers, switchgear, distribution panels, fire alarm and UPS systems, generators, lighting systems, load testing, LOTO safety, test equipment use, drawing/schematic interpretation, and cross-trade surge support to Allied Trades.
  • Required Qualifications:
    • 5 years' experience as a Journeyman Electrician
    • Thorough knowledge of complete industrial electrical systems and associated equipment; practical electronics knowledge to troubleshoot circuits containing electronic components and replace circuit boards
    • Knowledge of high-voltage generating and distribution equipment and of high-voltage/live-circuit safety procedures
    • Knowledge of the National Electrical Safety Code and wire/conduit/transformer types and sizes; ability to interpret electrical drawings and circuit diagrams and to work from building plans and engineering drawings
    • Skill with hand tools, portable power tools, and electrical test equipment (meggers, phase sticks, fault-finding equipment, voltmeters, amp meters)
    • Valid state driver's license;
    • NACI; DoD CAC; U.S. person only; certification documentation available on request
    • U.S Citizen
  • SCA Labor Category Match: 23160 – Electrician, Maintenance ($23.29)
  • Hourly Wage Range: $23.29 – $27.95
  • Rationale: Anchored exactly at the SCA floor because Appendix B.8 describes journey-level work that is squarely within the SCA Directory's Electrician, Maintenance definition. The +20% ceiling ($27.95) covers a 5-year-experienced journeyman with high-voltage and RDT&E exposure and keeps this position's range deliberately below the Master Electrician range so the two roles remain distinguishable in pricing and in any Service Contract Act audit.
  • Special Requirements: Mission Essential Contractor Personnel; same physical demands, PPE, LOTO, and color-vision requirements as REQ-002; potential agency-designated hazardous pay differential.

*This Position is Contingent Upon Award.
