In the Edmonton region we have manufacturing facilities in Edmonton, Sherwood Park and Nisku.

We offer various shifts:

  • Rotating Day Shift (continental)

  • Monday to Thursday Nightshift

  • Weekend Nightshift (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday)

RolesandResponsibilities

  • Interpret drawings, blueprints,schematicsand specifications to plan and carry out electrical installation,maintenanceand repair work.

  • Providetechnical guidance,oversightand verification of apprentice workin accordance withAlberta Apprenticeship and Industry Training (AIT) legislation.

  • Install,terminateand test conduit systems, cables, electrical equipment, panels,sensorsand control devices in compliance with applicable codes and standards.

  • Construct and fabricate electrical control panels and systems, including rough-in and final wiring of control circuits.

  • Install interlocking wiring and complete wiring inspection and checkout procedures to verify correct operation.

  • Follow manufacturer specifications, vendor manualsand assembly and installation instructions.

  • Lead and perform electrical isolation, lockout/tagout (LOTO) and energized work assessmentsin accordance withcompany safety programs and regulatory requirements.

  • Assess electrical hazards and ensure required permits,controlsand safe work practices are implemented prior to performing work.

  • Troubleshoot,maintainand repair electrical power and control circuits, including motors and associated control devices.

  • Ensure all electrical work meets applicable codes, standards, drawingsand company quality requirements including NEC, NESC, NFPA, and UFC where applicable.

  • Complete, update andmaintainaccuratework orders, maintenance records, inspectionreportsand technical documentation.

  • Monitor materials andpartsusage and report shortages, defectsor quality concerns.

  • Assistwith the development and execution of preventative and predictive maintenance programs.

  • Recommend improvements or modifications to electrical systems,plansand specifications to enhance safety,reliabilityand operational efficiency.

  • Ensure proper use, inspection, care and storage of tools, testinstrumentsand assigned equipment.

  • Train, direct and support junior employees and apprentices and inspect and certify work quality asrequired

  • Maintain current knowledge of electrical technologies, codes, compliance requirements, and industry best practices.

  • Perform all dutiesin accordance withSilent-Aire safety program standards and Alberta Occupational Health and Safety Act, Regulations and Code.

  • Other duties may be assignedasdeemednecessary.

Knowledge,SkillsandAbilities

  • Demonstrated ability to accurately read,interpretand apply information from blueprints, schematics, diagrams, drawings,manualsand technical specifications.

  • Indepth working knowledge of the Canadian Electrical Code (CEC) and applicable regulatoryand safetystandards.

  • Ability to apply code requirements toelectricalinstallations,systemmodificationsand troubleshooting activities.

  • Advanced troubleshooting and diagnostic skills for electrical powerdistribution, controlcircuitsand motorcontrolsystems.

  • Proven ability tocoach, mentor and provide constructive feedback to apprenticesin accordance withAIT apprenticeship requirements.

  • Ability to lead by example in safety,qualityand professionalism.

  • Working knowledge of quality assurance processes, inspectionmethodsand compliance verification requirements.

  • Demonstratedability to thrive in a fastpaced, highpressure production environment while effectively managing multiple competing priorities.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build strong working relationships.

  • Ability to interact with others in a sensitive, tactful,diplomaticand professional manner at all times.

  • Highly adaptable, with strong interpersonal skills that support effective collaboration in a diverse work environment.

Education and Work Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

  • Valid Alberta Journeyperson Electrician CertificateRed Seal endorsement is considered an asset.

  • Demonstrated experience supervising,mentoringand supporting the technical development of electrical apprenticesin accordance withapprenticeship standards.

  • Proven experience installing, assembling, disassembling,troubleshootingand repairing a variety of electrical machinery and equipment.

  • Experience performing routine electrical maintenance operations is an asset.

  • Experience supporting inspections, audits and regulatory compliance activities is an asset.

Working Conditions

  • Required to work in a manufacturing environment that may involve exposure to noise, moving machinery, varyingtemperaturesand other productionrelatedhazards

  • Required to useappropriatepersonalprotective equipment(PPE)to prevent exposure to hazardous materialsand excessive noise levels in the workplace.

  • Must have the physicalability to lift and carry materials weighing up to35lbs.

  • Must have theability to stand for extended periodsthroughout each shift

  • Manual dexterityisrequiredto effectivelyoperatetools and equipment.

  • Overtime may be available occasionally with work volume.
