Job Description

Electricians at Neenah Foundry keep the lights on, the machines running and the current flowing so we can continue to produce our award-winning castings. As an Industrial Electrician, you’ll work throughout the Foundry, laying and connecting power cables and working on AC/DC circuits and ungrounded systems. You’ll troubleshoot, repair and maintain motors, transformers, control panels, PLC’s and all other electrical equipment using the appropriate hand tools.

Your ability to read blueprints and diagrams will help you troubleshoot machinery and electrical systems and critical thinking will help you anticipate problems. Your knowledge of safety codes and refusal to cut corners while making repairs will keep you and your co-workers safe. Finally, your communication skills will be used to explain repairs, advocate for new equipment or procedures and share your knowledge. So, do you have the ‘power’ to keep the Foundry running?

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

• 
  Work from prints, diagrams, specifications and instructions covering emergency and scheduled repairs; as well as demolition, installation, testing and inspection of work to be done on electrical systems.
• Install system components and wiring in compliance with the NEC, NESC, NFPA and the UFC.
  • Installs, troubleshoots, repairs and maintains electrical control circuits for motors, PLC hardware and software and control devices for various electrical devices.
  • Test, inspect, clean, repair, dismantle, adjust, replace, assemble and maintain all manual or automatic AC and DC systems, electrical equipment, transformers, switch gear, control panels, regulators, distribution systems, generation systems and various other electrical components.

• Computers and Electronics — Knowledge of circuit boards, processors, chips, electronic equipment, and computer hardware and software, including applications and programming.

• Troubleshooting — Determine causes of operating errors and deciding what to do about it.
• Critical Thinking — Use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
• Equipment Maintenance — Perform routine and preventative maintenance on equipment and determining when and what kind of maintenance is needed.
• Equipment Selection — Determine the kind of tools and equipment needed to do a job.
• Complex Problem Solving — Identify complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
• Judgment and Decision Making — Considering the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one.
• Problem Sensitivity — Ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong. It does not involve solving the problem, only recognizing there is a problem.

• Flexibility of Closure — Ability to identify or detect a known pattern (a figure, object, word, or sound) that is hidden in other distracting material.

Education/ Experience Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum three (3) years’ experience working in an industrial maintenance environment as a Journeyman level Electrician.
• Will consider ten (10) years’ previous experience as an industrial electrician in lieu of journeyman’s card.
• Must have their own tools up to ½” drive
• Previous industrial electrician experience in a foundry preferred.
• Must have experience in pneumatics, hydraulics and conveyor systems.
  Experience in automatic molding and core making machines a plus
• Must be able/ willing to work weekends. Current openings are on 2nd and 3rd shift.

Travel Requirements

• Minimal, less than 5%.

Pay Rate:

• Rate of Pay - $36.60/hr.
• Additional $1.00 after probation is completed.
• 2nd shift premium: $1.50
• 3rd shift premium: $1.00
• Annual Tool Allowance – Up to $450
• Additional Performance pay
