Job Title: Journeyman Electrician
Company: Bertke Electric
Location: Ghent, KY
Schedule: Day Shift (7:00 AM – 3:30 PM)

Bertke Electric is seeking a skilled and dependable Journeyman Electrician to support operations at a steel mill facility in Ghent, KY. This role involves maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems in a heavy industrial environment. The ideal candidate is safety-focused, reliable, and experienced in industrial electrical work.

Key Responsibilities:

• Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems and equipment in a steel mill environment
• Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical issues efficiently to minimize downtime
• Bend and install rigid conduit and related components
• Work with a variety of tools, equipment, and lift systems
• Follow all safety procedures and company policies in a high-risk industrial setting
• Collaborate with team members and other trades as needed

Requirements:

• Valid and current Journeyman Electrician license in the state of Kentucky (preferred, not required)
• Proven experience working in an industrial environment (steel mill experience preferred)
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics
• Reliable attendance and strong work ethic

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to sit, stand, bend, and move for extended periods
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Ability to climb stairs and work at heights using lifts
• Ability to bend rigid conduit
