S&W Contracting Company is seeking a skilled Electrician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical systems, including both low and high voltage applications. This role requires expertise in reading blueprints and schematics, as well as proficiency with various electrical tools and equipment. The Electrician will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems in commercial, or industrial settings.

Duties:

• Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures.
• Read and interpret blueprints and schematics to determine the layout of electrical systems.
• Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components using correct equipment to locate the cause of the issue and correct the problem.
• Utilize tools such as ammeters, voltmeters, and power tools to troubleshoot electrical issues.
• Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components.
• Fasten metal or plastic boxes to walls to house electrical switches or outlets.
• Install ground leads and connect power cables to equipment such as motors or fixtures.
• Ensure compliance with local electrical codes and safety regulations.
• Work on construction sites to build and install new electrical systems.
• Conduct regular inspections of electrical systems to identify potential issues.
• Collaborate with other tradespeople on-site to ensure efficient project completion.
• Document work performed and maintain accurate records of repairs and installations.

Requirements:

• AT least 3 – 5 years of electrical experience
• Experience running and bending conduit
• Proven experience as an Electrician or in a similar role within the electrical field.
• Strong knowledge of low voltage and high voltage systems.
• Proficiency in reading schematics and blueprints.
• Familiarity with using ammeters, voltmeters, and other electrical testing equipment.
• Experience working on construction sites is preferred.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients and team members.
• Reliable Transportation to get to job sites here in TN.

PHYSICAL STANDARDS:

Rare: (less than 10%): sitting, kneeling, crawling, color-vision, climbing stairs

Occasional: (up to 33%): stooping, squatting, climbing on/off a truck, reading, pushing, climbing ladders, lifting to 50 lbs.

Frequent: (up to 66%): walking, body-twisting, manual dexterity, speaking clearly, hearing-speech range, lifting, carrying, pulling, balancing, lifting to 10 lbs.

Continuous: (up to 100%): standing, sense of touch, seeing distant, climbing, gripping, lifting 10-50 lbs., seeing, reaching, range of motion, depth perception

Possession of good hearing, normal or corrected.

Possession of good vision, normal or corrected.

Positive identification of wiring colors.
