Key Responsibilities

  • Perform structural, non-structural, and cosmetic repairs, including sheet metal straightening, panel replacements, weld on replacements, bonding, riveting, and trim/glass work.
  • Utilize OEM repair procedures, repair plans, and technical bulletins to restore vehicles to factory specifications and pre-accident condition.
  • Work closely with estimators on repair variances and supplement identification, coordinate with parts staff to verify components, and prepare vehicles seamlessly for the paint department.
  • Conduct self-directed quality checks throughout the repair process, maintaining a strict "fix it right the first time" standard to ensure final inspection readiness.
  • Maintain a clean, organized workspace while adhering to all shop safety protocols, PPE requirements, and hazardous material handling rules.
  • Active participation in paid OEM brand certifications and modern technical upskilling.

Qualifications

  • Red Seal Journeyman Auto Body Technician Certification (or equivalent experience).
  • Proven experience in a high volume collision repair facility or OEM certified body shop.
  • Deep knowledge of collision repair methods, OEM guidelines, advanced structural repair techniques, and expertise with modern repair tools, welders, and measuring benches.
  • Strong ability to interpret complex repair plans/blueprints, combined with exceptional time management and attention to detail.
  • Valid driver’s license.
