News Journalist – SEN - full time - Adelaide preferred

About the role and you

SEN is looking for a full time News Journalist, working Monday – Friday. You’ll source, write and read half hourly National news and sport bulletins for SEN plus deliver bulletins for syndicated stations and other markets as required.

Our ideal candidate will have:

  • A Journalism qualification;
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a radio newsroom using NewsBoss;
  • Proven strengths in news preparation and presentation to meet deadlines and deliver different versions of bulletins for different markets;
  • Passion for news and sport (particularly AFL and NRL);
  • Audio editing and basic technical understanding of studio equipment;
  • A knowledge and understanding of CRA’s Codes of Practice and Broadcasting Standards.

Optional:

  • Digital and social media skills for visual execution and uploading bulletins;
  • Long form writing skills for digital articles and/or articles for The AFL Record

You’ll also need to have great communication skills, attention to detail, work at a fast pace and the ability to work in a team environment (in market and remotely).

Preference for the role is to be Adelaide based, however welcome applications from all markets across Australia.
