Le7 te Melámen Health Society (LtMHS) is passionately committed to enhancing the well-being of the Secwépemc Nation and its 16 communities through a culturally focused approach, ensuring the safety and well-being of Indigenous families.

THE OPPORTUNITY:

Le7 te Melámen Health Society is seeking a Jordan’s Principle Support Worker for a 1-year contract term to support the Service Coordination team with administrative, logistical, family support, and reporting activities related to Jordan’s Principle. This role will help ensure children and families connected to the Jordan’s Principle caseload can access approved services and supports through organized intake, scheduling, documentation, coordination, and follow-up.

The ideal candidate is highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to balance administrative responsibilities and direct support to children and families. They will bring strong communication skills, sound judgment, and a respectful service-minded approach when working with families, service providers, colleagues and external partners.

AS THE JORDAN’S PRINCIPLE SUPPORT WORKER, YOU WILL:

  • Support children and families who are eligible for Jordan’s Principle and connected to the organization’s Service Coordination caseload.
  • Assist Service Coordinators with general intake and service administration, including:
    • Gathering information and organizing documentation
    • Preparing files and completing follow-up tasks
    • Supporting applications forms and appointment coordination
    • Communicating with clients, families and service providers as needed
  • Assist with the administrative portion of service navigation to federal, provincial and community supports outside of Jordan’s Principle.
  • Provide practical wraparound support to help families access services, including transportation coordination, scheduling and related logistics.
  • Provide life skills education and practical support to families with children eligible for Jordan’s Principle.
  • Support Service Coordinators to prepare, deliver and report on group requests, including:
    • Intake
    • Scheduling meetings with letter writers, parents and professionals
    • Arranging service provider travel and space for service delivery
    • Supporting group request DCI reporting
    • Tracking unexpended funds and supporting unexpended funding plans
  • Coordinate with the finance team to support payment to service providers or reimbursement to recipients, in accordance with the terms of approved group requests.
  • Ensure Support Worker activities do not overlap with activities funded through administrative line items within group requests.
  • Track activities undertaken per family and provide activity tracking information to Indigenous Services Canada annually or upon request.
  • Attend bi-annual Service Coordination check-in meetings at the manager’s discretion.
  • Participate in training provided by the Enhanced Service Coordination host organization.
  • Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive family, service and funding information with professionalism and care.

Requirements

  • Diploma or degree in Social Work, Child and Youth Care, Human Services, Community Services, Education, Office Administration, Health Administration, or a related field.
  • 1–3 years of experience in an administrative, coordination, family support, health, education, or social services environment. A combination of relevant education, training, and experience may be considered.
  • Experience supporting children, families, caregivers, or community members with service access, scheduling, documentation, or practical wraparound support.
  • Strong administrative and organizational skills, including:
  • File management, scheduling, data entry and follow-up
  • Tracking, reporting, documentation and spreadsheet maintenance
  • Experience supporting intake, application forms, appointment coordination, transportation coordination, or service navigation.
  • Experience with Jordan’s Principle, Indigenous Services Canada, government-funded programs, contribution agreements, or community-based funding programs is an asset.
  • Experience coordinating logistics for meetings, group programming, service delivery, travel, space booking, or provider coordination is an asset.
  • Experience with payment documentation, reimbursements, invoices, receipts, purchase orders, or finance-related tracking is an asset.
  • Training or experience in trauma-informed practice, confidentiality, case documentation, or community support coordination is an asset.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, maintain accurate records, and handle sensitive information with professionalism and care.

PRE-EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS:

  • A valid driver's license, reliable vehicle, and clean driver's abstract.
  • Successful completion of a criminal record check.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Schedule flexibility, including evenings and weekends meetings.
  • Travel within the region and to provincial meetings.

  • Contract Term: 1-year contract, with the possibility for extension contingent on funding.
  • Compensation: $30.00 – $34.00/hour, based on skill set and experience.
