 TRABUS is seeking a dedicated and skilled full-time Joint Warning Analysis and Reporting Network (JWARN) Software Integration Engineer. The JWARN Software Engineer will provide software development and integration support to the Joint Effects Model (JEM)/JWARN systems.  The JWARN Software Engineer will maintain and update the current existing JWARN system to provide high fidelity hazard predictions and disseminate those predictions to assist in preparation of vulnerability assessments and analysis. The JWARN Software Engineer will be comfortable working in an Agile development framework, be a senior member of a skilled development team, and provide software development and integration expertise across a broad spectrum of developmental skillsets.  The successful JWARN Software Engineer will be willing to innovate and explore new designs and technologies. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Sustainment efforts will include cybersecurity review of the software, software fixes to maintain cybersecurity, and fix known, latent defects in the software based on prioritization set by the government. Sustainment also includes performing system administration tasks for JEM and JWARN on the Chemical Biological Radiological Nuclear Information System (CBRN IS) along with sustaining system hardware.
  • Upgrade and sustain the fielded JEM and JWARN software and CBRN-IS hardware. Software upgrades shall be performed in accordance with the most recent product baseline established by and approved by the Government.  As part of JEM and JWARN sustainment, conduct sustainment support on the following integration efforts:
    • Support the development, integration, test, and sustainment of CBRN IScapabilities through implementation and adherence to a common architecture that produces interoperable components.
    • Support sustainment and upgrades of JEM and JWARN software to adhere to the interoperability and sustainment requirements of Services Command and Control (C2) systems which includes integration with Service specific Command, Control, Communications, Computers, & Intelligence (C4I) subsystems including tracks, overlays, maps, message dissemination and meteorological systems,
    • Develop and update the Software Version Description (SVD), Software Programmer’s Guide (SPG), System Administrator Manual (SAM), Software User Manual (SUM), and Software Test Description (STD)

REQUIREMENTS:
The candidate must have:
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field
  • 5 years of Java development and programming experience (Java 11 and JavaScript)
  • Demonstrated proficiency with at least one scripting language, preferably Python
  • Experience in writing clear, high-quality, maintainable and extendable code with best practices of automated tests
  • 5 years of continuous programming experience; experience in agile software engineering process and life cycle
  • Ability to perform software development in a DevOps environment utilizing tools such as Git, Jenkins, Jira, Artifactory, Confluence, and Bitbucket
  • Demonstrated experience in Docker and Kubernetes
  • Willingness to suggest, design, and implement the utilization of new technologies into an existing product
  • Fully adjudicated DoD SECRET clearance

Desired requirements:
  • Master’s degree in computer science or related field
