Primary Location: United States (US) - Georgia - Grovetown

As a  Maintenance Technician I with John Deere Augusta you will:

  • Perform general maintenance and repair of factory buildings and equipment.

are dependent on duties assigned but in general consist of the following:

  • Performs work utilizing both national and local electrical safety codes.
  • Works form prints, sketches, wiring diagrams and schematics, manufacturers’ instructions and written or verbal instructions.
  • Plans own work sequence, selects materials, tools and equipment for job.
  • Installs, modifies, repairs, or maintains motors, generators, lights, electronic equipment, transformers, switches, power and lighting lines, control panels and all types of electrical, mechanical and electronic controllers, recorders and circuitry.
  • Constructs, installs and maintains conveyors, trolley tracks, switches, racks and bins, assembly fixtures, guard rails, shields, weighing scales, hoists, jib cranes and other mechanical handling equipment including layout, fabrication, assembly and welding of sheet or plate metal materials.
  • Replaces or installs motors, pipes, nozzles, valves, traps, gages, meters, regulators and mechanical control devices as required.
  • Performs maintenance and repair on plumbing such as cleaning, replacing and repairing pipes, faucets, lavatories, sewage lines and sprinkler heads.
  • Prepares and paints factory buildings and equipment.
  • Performs maintenance and repair on heating and air conditioning equipment, replaces filters, belts and pulleys, adjusts thermostats and controls.
  • Pours and finishes concrete for repair and repairs masonry.
  • Installs and repairs locks, fits keys, cuts and installs glass.
  • Lubricates and cleans equipment and cleans work area.
  • Performs other miscellaneous duties inherent to the job.
  • Observes all safety rules and regulations in the performance of job duties.

Types of Machines, Tools and Equipment Used or Operated:

  • Various hand, portable and power tools and equipment common to the job assigned, scaffolds and ladders, hand and power trucks and transporters, testing, checking and measuring equipment and welding and brazing equipment.

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must have  at least one of the following:
    • High School Diploma or G.E.D.
    • National Career Readiness Certificate (NCRC)
    • At least  3 years of manufacturing work experience
  • Ability to perform manual tasks related to described job duties for duration of work shift; including but not limited to frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting.
  • Ability and willingness to work ANY shift potential overtime (including weekends).
