The Job Placement Specialist provides job placement services to individuals with intellectual & physical disabilities and facilitates business partnerships and project opportunities for Options For All under the supervision of the Business Developer.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Develop, cultivate and maintain business partner relationships

  • Provide one potential partnership lead to Business Developer Associate per month

  • Acquire a minimum of one Options For All project a month

  • Secure a minimum of four placements per month

  • Present employment model to employers

  • Negotiate new or renewal wage levels with employers.

  • Accompany participants as needed to interview, job fairs and new hire orientations

  • Create, complete and maintain: Job Contact Log, Development

    Summary Log, work inventory, assessment, master application, etc

  • Complete all required documentation and reports

  • Attend ISP meetings, as assigned

  • Provide interview training to participants

  • Provide placement updates to Business Developer Associate

  • Effectively relay issues and concerns to the Business Developer Associate

  • Identify and engage in network-building activities (e.g. community and professional organizations)

  • Attend at least one networking event per quarter and 2-3 marketing/vendor fairs per year

  • Conduct trainings to business partners

  • Create lesson plans, aligned with current industry standards, which drives instruction through formative assessment and hands-on curriculum which include interview training, resume building, and portfolio development for all participants

Company Standards

  • Support fundraising activities of the organization.

  • Attend all required meetings and in-services

  • Complete all required training

  • Comply with all Options For All policies and procedures

  • Conserve company resources

  • Other duties, as assigned



Qualifications

ESSENTIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Bachelor’s in Marketing, Business, Communication, or another related field. (Preferred)

Experience

  • Experience with job development and placement strategies, including: job analysis, task analysis and job carving

  • Familiarity with job coaching support, instructional strategies and developing on-the-job natural supports (preferred)

  • Experience with instruction in critical life need areas, with emphasis on employment readiness, job placement and employment (preferred)

  • Experience with small group placements (preferred)

  • Knowledge and application of appropriate teaching strategies and methods

  • Experience with Employers in the community.

Required Skills

  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing

  • Professional English writing ability, including usage, grammar, spelling, punctuation and vocabulary

  • Ability to create effective presentations

  • Proficiency in basic office equipment, including Microsoft Office Suite

  • Ability to teach and demonstrate job search skills

  • Ability to effectively negotiate wage levels (preferred)

  • Knowledge of benefit counseling (SSI, SSDI and UI) (preferred)

  • Marketing and/or sales experience (preferred)

Other Requirements

  • Immediate access to a vehicle with working seat belts, valid driver’s license, current auto insurance and acceptable DMV record
  • Ability to travel within and throughout the county in which services are provided.
  • Ability to travel in and throughout the state on a quarterly basis to attend meetings, trainings, etc.
  • Successful completion of background check

PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT

This position requires the employee to regularly stand, walk, sit, talk and hear. They must be capable of writing, using a computer keyboard, telephone and related office equipment. Ability to lift 25lbs. required.

The employee will be working in community environments, employment sites and office environments. The employee will experience normal office conditions with a well-lighted work area and minor noise from standard office equipment.
