The International Rescue Committee (IRC) responds to the world’s worst humanitarian crises and helps people to survive and rebuild their lives. Founded in 1933, the IRC offers lifesaving care and life-changing assistance to refugees forced to flee from war or disaster. At work today in over 40 countries, the IRC aims to restore safety, dignity and hope to millions who are uprooted and struggling to endure. In response to the arrival of refugees in Greece in 2015, the IRC has been offering SMS, WASH and Protection services. Among others, through its child protection programs, the IRC has been offering individual support through case management to vulnerable children and their families, non-formal educational activities for children through Safe Healing and Learning Spaces and emergency accommodation and protection to unaccompanied children.
Since 2017, IRC Hellas supports vulnerable youth refugee and host communities in Athens to access income generation through employment and self-employment services and skills-building activities, directly and in collaboration with partners. Building on this experience, IRC Hellas, with the support of UNHCR and in partnership with the Municipality of Thessaloniki, is implementing the Youth Empowerment and Self-Reliance project for the third year to promote socio-economic equal access for vulnerable youth in Thessaloniki.
To support with the implementation of the project, IRC Hellas is recruiting a Job Counselor, to be responsible for the day-to-day implementation of employability activities, including service mapping, stakeholder engagement, job counseling and Job Readiness Trainings.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
BA/BS Degree in social sciences, education, project management, and/or related certification required. Master’s degree or additional certification in Job Counseling is strongly preferred.
Working hours: 9:00-17:00
Travel and other requirements: Occasionally to other areas of IRC programs in Greece.

Compensation: (Pay Rate: €1,631/month). Ranges are based on various factors including the labor market, job type, internal equity, and budget. Exact offers are calibrated by work location, individual candidate experience and skills relative to the defined job requirements.
