Location: Maidstone Campus

Reporting To: Jo Shilling

Compensation: £31,334 - £36,611 / year

Work with Internal Stakeholders to identify roles for young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) that are a good match for their strengths and aspirations, providing coaching and guidance to interns within their workplaces and working with employers to ensure they have the skills and confidence to maintain employment after the end of the Supported Internship. This will include contributing to the achievement of learner outcomes and having a key role in their success and provide flexible job coaching support across Learn to Earn programmes and Supported Internships in Maidstone.

This role will be 20 hours a week, 40 weeks a year. The salary advertised will be pro rated.

Main Responsibilities and Duties:

1. Apply pre-supported employment values and ethics to engage with prospective interns who aspire to paid employment, enabling them to raise their aspirations and make informed decisions. 2. Create and agree development plans for interns to gain and maintain employment working in partnership with interns, their family/ carers, employers and communities.
3. Advise internal stakeholders about the benefits, processes and practices to recruit and retain a diverse workforce, including negotiating any reasonable adjustments required to remove barriers to employment, whilst using appropriate assessment methods to identify the needs of interns and the analysis of jobs and employer requirements to enable a good job match.
4. Ensure internal stakeholder understanding, assessment and mitigation of risk, including Health and Safety, Safeguarding and Information Governance.
5. Provide individualised support for students in the internal workplace which meets their needs. 6. Enable individuals in pre- supported employment to be productive and integrated in their workplace.
7. Maintain accurate records which recognise and record the progress and achievement of pre - supported interns.
8. Actively participate in Continuous Professional Development (CPD), in order to develop skills as a reflective supported employment practitioner.
