Job Description

Areas of responsibility may include but not limited to:

  1. Training Program Development:
    • Conduct needs analyses with business bi-annually
    • Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) to design and develop learning programs relevant to new products, new systems and based on needs identified through analysis
    • Create engaging learning material and update these as needed, including generic-, systems- and product related content.
    • Design and develop online learning programs through Articulate 360 software
    • Customise training programs based on the specific needs of different teams (e.g., sales, underwriting, claims).
    • Develop and update learning material including generic, compliance, systems and product
  1. Training Delivery:
    • Conduct Business Unit Induction for new employees
    • Conduct periodic and regular learning sessions existing employees in line with business requirements
    • Provide coaching (live and upon request) and feedback to improve performance.
    • Evaluate training effectiveness and adjust delivery methods as needed.
  1. Product and Process Training:
    • Ensure that employees understand insurance products, policies, and procedures.
    • Provide ongoing training to keep employees updated on industry trends and changes.
  1. Skills Development:
    • Identify skill gaps and recommend targeted training solutions.
    • Foster continuous learning and professional development among employees.
  1. Reporting and Administration
    • Ensure that iQS objectives are met monthly
    • Capture learning stats for division and for the purposes of WSP and ATR.
    • Perform required administrative tasks relevant to the role
  1. Analyse
  • Meetings are documented and feedback report with learning suggestions is compiled and distributed to the leaders.
  • Training needs identified feed into the Annual Training plan for Discovery Life
  • Training requested is delivered to the required standard

7.Design

Conduct business unit Induction:

  • Design and develop learning programs
  • Consult on learning programs
  • Develop and update learning material including generic, systems and product information
  • Training classes captured on Aspire
  • Content is correctly documented
  • Launch content is incorporated into the Induction training material
  • Learner reaction forms are completed and discussed in 1:1 with leader
  • Monthly training report per learner is compiled and distributed to line managers
  • Allocate badges
  • Report to Compliance
  1. Develop

Assessment development; develop both written and online assessments i.e. monthly incentive assessment and Induction

Conduct simulation calls for client facing areas:

  • Line manager reviews and approves all developed assessments
  • Testing of assessments reveals minimal ambiguity
  • Assessments test relevant content
  • Feedback from learners and stakeholders by completing learner reaction forms (for Induction)
  • Allocate badges per criteria
  • Line manager reviews and approves all developed assessments

  1. Facilitate learning sessions
  • Surveys and feedback indicate satisfactory training delivery
  • Feedback from learners and stakeholders by completing learner reaction forms
  • Adhoc surveys by line manager to evaluate training standards and performance
  • Report to Compliance when necessary

10 Capture learning stats for division and for the purposes of WSP and ATR

  • Standard templates are used (where relevant) and information is presented accurately and completely
  • All training registers are captured on Aspire.

Education and Experience

Essential:

  • Matric
  • Minimum of 4 years’ experience working with the Discovery Life products

Advantageous:

  • Train the Trainer certification
  • ETDP Diploma
  • E-learning software development knowledge

Knowledge

Essential:

  • Advanced knowledge of the Discovery Life products
  • Ability to communicate with internal and external team members.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

Advantageous:

  • Intermediate level proficiency in MS Office applications, Powerpoint.
  • E-learning software development Knowledge Advanced knowledge of Paradigm and SAM
