Job Description

A loving family based in the Capitol Hill neighborhood of Washington, DC is seeking a dedicated live-out nanny to provide attentive, nurturing care for their 5-month-old son. The family will be relocating to Annapolis, Maryland in September 2026, and is ideally seeking a candidate available to start in Annapolis at that time. A summer start in Washington, DC will be considered for the right candidate who is willing to commute prior to the move. The family is open to starting on a part-time basis of approximately three days per week, with the potential to grow into a full-time role over time. This is a purely child-centered position. The family is not looking for general household cleaning support, and they are seeking a nanny who brings genuine enthusiasm for active, engaged, and developmentally enriching care. Daily outings are a priority, and park visits, playground time, library story times, and mommy and me style classes are central to the care philosophy.

Responsibilities

• Provide attentive, nurturing, and developmentally enriching care for the infant throughout all scheduled hours
• Plan and lead daily outings including park visits, playground trips, library story times, and organized classes
• Prepare nutritious, child-focused meals and snacks
• Handle all child-related laundry
• Maintain a safe, stimulating, and organized environment for the child
• Communicate openly and regularly with parents regarding the child’s daily activities, milestones, and needs
• Transport the child to and from activities and appointments as needed

Qualifications

• Prior professional nanny or childcare experience in a private household setting, with infant experience strongly preferred
• Warm, engaged, and proactive approach to child development and daily care
• Enthusiasm for active, outdoor, and educational activities
• Bilingual ability is strongly preferred
• Swimming ability is a plus
• Valid driver’s license; personal vehicle preferred

Requirements

• Minimum of three to five years of professional private household childcare experience
• Infant experience required
• Strong, verifiable professional references
• Valid US work authorization
• Valid driver’s license; comfortable with child transportation

Salary and Benefits

• $40 per hour
• Prorated PTO
