As our Java Technical Referent you’ll raise the engineering bar, define standards, and deliver accurate, scalable backend services that the team and stakeholders can trust. A key part of your impact will be reducing manual reviews through robust, deterministic logic and targeted automation that improves reliability and throughput. You will collaborate closely with leaders and engineers to maintain and improve the architecture of the finance core micro systems in general. This is a Technica Referent, a high-autonomy role with clear accountability for correctness and scalability.
Lead the design and delivery of reliable Java microservices for finance core and finance core reconciliation, ensuring accuracy, performance, and scalability.
Define and enforce engineering standards, acting as the technical bar-raiser for the group.
Audit, maintain, and improve existing repositories
Drive automation to reduce manual reviews and errors (e.g., rules engines, validations, alerts, auto-reconciliation flows) and continuously optimize workflows.
Mentor teammates via code/design reviews and knowledge-sharing, elevating domain and engineering maturity across the team
Proven hands-on Software Development experience in Java SE and using frameworks such as Spring / Spring Boot. At least 7 years of experience
Experience working with microservice architectures
Object-oriented analysis and design using common design patterns and Java SE internals (Classloading, Memory Management, Transaction management, etc.)
Good knowledge of Relational and Non-relational Databases
Experience with Cloud Providers such as AWS (preferred) or GCP
Ability to quickly adapt to Python codebases
Strong grasp of financial/reconciliation business logic and data quality; close attention to accuracy and auditability
Ownership & Proactivity — Ability to take end-to-end responsibility for initiatives, act without waiting for approval, reduce uncertainty by investigating and proposing concrete solutions rather than escalating open questions
Results-Oriented Communication — Ability to communicate progress, blockers, and decisions clearly and concisely with actionable context, enabling stakeholders to make efficient decisions without needing to dig into the details
Automation mindset: experience building tests, tooling, and workflow improvements to eliminate manual steps and reduce defects
