Technical Leadership
  • Design and oversee Java modernization strategies and technical roadmaps for enterprise clients
  • Define scalable, resilient, and secure Java-based solutions aligned with business objectives
  • Establish technical standards, best practices, and architectural patterns for your development team
  • Conduct comprehensive technical reviews and code quality assessments
  • Mentor and guide nearshore/offshore developers on architectural decisions and technical excellence
Hands-On Development
  • Lead complex Java modernization projects including JBoss upgrades and Spring Boot migrations
  • Direct migration initiatives from Java EE / Jakarta EE legacy systems to modern frameworks
  • Oversee Spring Framework migrations (5 -> 6) and javax -> jakarta transitions
  • Manage RichFaces to PrimeFaces UI framework migrations
  • Refactor and remediate legacy codebases using industry-leading tools like OpenRewrite
  • Write, review, and optimize production-grade Java code
Team Management & Development
  • Manage and mentor nearshore/offshore Java development teams
  • Conduct code reviews and provide constructive technical feedback
  • Establish development processes, quality gates, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Facilitate knowledge sharing and skill development across distributed teams
  • Ensure adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality metrics
  • Coordinate effectively across different time zones and cultural contexts.
Application Server & Deployment Expertise
  • Lead JBoss/WildFly upgrade initiatives and platform migrations
  • Oversee application server configuration, optimization, and troubleshooting
  • Ensure deployment strategies (WAR/EAR) are optimized, documented, and production-ready
  • Implement CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment processes.

Let's talk about you

  • BSc or MSc degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent professional experience)
  • Minimum 4+ years of professional Java development experience.
  • Previous experience in banking sector would be considered an asset.
  • Proven track record managing distributed development teams (nearshore/offshore)
  • Deep understanding of Java language features, design patterns, and best practices
  • Strong foundation in object-oriented programming and functional programming concepts
  • Hands-on experience with javax -> jakarta namespace migrations - Knowledge of Spring ecosystem (Spring Data, Spring Security, Spring Cloud)
  • Proficiency with JPA/Hibernate ORM framework. Knowledge of enterprise application patterns and design principles
  • Hands-on experience with JBoss / WildFly administration and optimization
  • Expertise in WAR/EAR deployment and troubleshooting - Understanding of application server configuration and performance tuning
  • Experience with CI/CD pipeline integration and optimization - Familiarity with automated testing frameworks and strategies
  • Passionate about technology, innovation, and continuous learning
  • Ability to balance logical problem-solving with innovative thinking
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to code quality
  • Proven ability to lead and mentor technical teams
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong presentation abilities for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • To understand the code written in Dutch and French
  • Ability to translate complex technical concepts for stakeholders
  • Comfortable working in cross-functional environments with architects, business analysts, and QA teams
  • Team player who enjoys collaborating to solve complex problems.
  • Fluent in Dutch and English (French is an extra asset).
