We provide our customers with an Integrated Information System (S2i), and a full range of digital banking products and services

At the heart of our strategy, we are looking for a Java Tech Lead in the Payment team.

🤓 The team

The position is to be filled at our Geneva premises (Lancy Bachet).

This position will be part of the Payment team of 15 employees.

You will also liaise with the technical teams based in our Lisbon & Singapore offices.

👨‍🔧 Your responsibilities

  • 1. Build & Release Management

    • Manage branching strategy and versioning (GitFlow or equivalent)

    • Own and coordinate application releases

    • Handle merges and conflict resolution

    • Contribute to CI/CD pipelines (preferably GitLab)

    • Ensure delivery traceability, stability, and quality

    2. Code Review & Software Quality

    • Actively participate in code reviews (backend and frontend)

    • Review Angular components (no need to be a UI expert)

    • Enforce best practices:

      • Clean code

      • Secure coding

      • Maintainability and readability

    • Promote coding standards and continuous improvement

    3. Troubleshooting & DEV/SIM Support

    • Investigate and resolve technical issues in DEV and SIM environments

    • Perform root cause analysis using:

      • Splunk (logs & monitoring)

      • Postman (API testing)

      • Docker (containers)

      • Linux (system-level diagnostics)

    • Support project teams in resolving blocking issues efficiently

    4. Infrastructure Coordination

    • Create and follow up infrastructure tickets:

      • MODAPS (ASP PMT)

      • MODENT (Unix)

      • MODCOSE (firewall requests)

    • Actively track and chase tickets until resolution

    • Work closely with network, security, and platform teams

    5. API Security & Token Management (WSO2)

    • Design, implement, and maintain secure API access mechanisms

    • Work with WSO2 API Manager / Identity Server for:

      • API exposure and access control

      • Policy enforcement

    • Manage authentication & authorization flows

      • OAuth2 / OpenID Connect

      • JWT token lifecycle (issuance, validation, expiration, revocation)

    • Ensure secure integration patterns:

      • Token propagation across services

      • Gateway-based security controls

    • Participate in defining and enforcing API security best practices

    • Support troubleshooting of authentication / authorization issues

    6. Work Organization

    • Contribution can be organized:

      • By type of activities (run, dev, infra, security)

      • Or by project ownership

    • High level of autonomy expected

🧙‍♂️ Your core competencies

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in IT

  • Experience in a private banking environment is a plus

  • French is mandatory and English also (B2 minimum)

Core Java & Backend Expertise (Mandatory)

  • Strong expertise in Java 17+

  • Strong experience with Spring Boot 3+

  • Solid knowledge of:

    • Spring ecosystem (Spring MVC, Spring Security, Spring Data)

    • Building RESTful APIs

    • JSON data handling

  • Experience with:

    • Microservices architecture

    • API design & best practices

    • Exception handling & logging strategies

  • Understanding of:

    • JVM fundamentals

    • Concurrency / multithreading

  • Ability to write clean, testable, and maintainable code

Technical Stack (Mandatory)

  • Git + CI/CD pipelines ( GitLab preferred)

  • REST APIs / JSON

  • Basic Angular knowledge

  • English level B2 minimum (spoken and written)

Preferred Skills

Security & API Management

  • Experience with:

    • WSO2 API Manager / Identity Server

    • OAuth2 / OpenID Connect

    • JWT token management

  • Understanding of:

    • API Gateway patterns

    • Zero-trust and secure API design principles
