THE BACKGROUND

For our client, a financial European Institution based in Luxembourg, we are looking for an experienced Java Tech Lead to join a long-term mission in a major EU Institution, For the needs of the client, you need be based near Luxembourg to work hybrid (remotely 20-30% weekly or monthly)

More specifically, you will be responsible for…

  • Designing and implementing robust backend solutions using Java and Spring Boot.

  • Leading the technical design of new features and enhancements.

  • Coordinating and mentor other Java developers within the team.

  • Reviewing code and ensuring compliance with coding standards and best practices.

  • Driving software quality through design reviews, testing and continuous improvement.

  • Collaborating closely with Solution Architects, Business Analysts, QA engineers and DevOps engineers.

  • Analysing complex functional and technical requirements and translating them into scalable solutions.

  • Ensuring maintainability, performance and security of developed solutions.

  • Supporting CI/CD processes and participating in release activities.

  • Providing second-line production support, root cause analysis and resolution of complex production issues.

  • Taking ownership of technical decisions and proactively identifying opportunities for improvement.

Requirements

Are you the perfect match?

  • Possession of a university degree.

  • C1 level English

  • 6+ years of experience as a Java Developer including time as a Senior Java Developer

Excellent knowledge of

  • Java 17

  • Spring Framework / Spring Boot

  • JPA / Hibernate

  • SQL

  • Design and implementation of REST APIs

Strong experience with

  • Apache Kafka or other messaging technologies

  • Maven

  • JUnit

  • CI/CD pipelines

  • Git

Nice to Have

  • Experience in the financial services or banking sector

  • Azure DevOps

  • Liquibase

  • SOAP web services
