Key about your team
You will become part of the Voluntary Choices team, a cross-functional Scrum team within our Development & Maintenance department. The team is distributed across the Netherlands and India and consists of design engineers, software engineers and test engineers who work closely together to deliver high-quality software.

The Voluntary Choices team develops and maintains business-critical functionality in three main areas:

Key about your role
As a Medior Java Software Engineer, you will develop and maintain the functionality behind our Voluntary Choices domain within Plexus. Together with your Scrum team, you are responsible for translating complex pension legislation and customer requirements into reliable, maintainable and scalable software.
Working closely with design engineers and test engineers, you will build new functionality, improve existing processes and help ensure that pension providers can efficiently manage voluntary pension products for millions of participants.

We continuously invest in modern engineering practices. As part of your daily work, you'll use AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code and OpenAI Codex to support software design, implementation, refactoring and code reviews. These tools are embedded in our development workflow and help us improve productivity while maintaining high standards for code quality, maintainability and security.

Requirements
You are passionate about software development and enjoy solving complex technical challenges together with your team. You take pride in writing clean, maintainable code and continuously look for ways to improve both yourself and the software you build.
