We are seeking a Java Software Engineer to join our team. The primary responsibility of this role is to migrate our database from a Sybase environment to PostgreSQL within our Billing system, ensuring no functional changes occur during the process. Post-migration, you will utilize standard REST interfaces to maintain and enhance system functionality.

Main Tasks:

  • Migrate the database from Sybase to PostgreSQL within the Billing system without altering existing functionalities.
  • Implement and maintain standard REST interfaces post-migration.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and system performance.
  • Conduct technical analysis of existing systems, business logic, and technical solutions to support the migration process.
  • Develop and maintain high-quality code, ensuring adherence to best practices and industry standards.

Qualifications

Must-have requirements:

  • Proficiency in the JVM Ecosystem, including Java 17/21, Spring Boot, Spring JDBC, REST APIs, Maven, and JUnit.
  • Strong experience with PostgreSQL and Sybase databases.
  • Familiarity with tools and DevOps practices, including Kubernetes, Jenkins, SonarQube, and OpenAPI/Swagger.
  • Proven experience in technical analysis, including the ability to analyze existing systems, business logic, and technical solutions.
  • Fluent communication skills in English and Polish (minimum B2 level), both written and spoken.

Nice to have requirements:

  • Experience in developing stored procedures in Sybase.
  • Strong analytical skills and a keen interest in AI technologies.
  • Previous experience in the Billing domain.

Additional Information

Hybrid work model: 3 days from the office, 2 days of home office.

Office locations: Warszawa, Lublin, Poznań.
