Job Description

Synechron is seeking a highly skilled Java Developer to lead the development of scalable, secure, and high-performance enterprise applications supporting core business functions. This role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining Java-based microservices in cloud environments, ensuring system robustness and security. The candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into effective technical solutions, foster best practices, and deliver reliable software aligned with organizational standards.


Software Requirements

Required:

  • Extensive experience with Java (version 8+) and Spring Boot / Spring Framework (5+ years) for building scalable backend services

  • Knowledge of microservices architecture, REST APIs, and API Gateway integrations

  • Strong SQL skills with experience in MySQL, PostgreSQL, or SQL Server for data management

  • Experience with version control tools: Git or equivalent

  • Familiarity with cloud platforms AWS, Azure, or GCP supporting deployment of microservices (preferred)

  • Experience with containerization Docker and Kubernetes (preferred)

  • Build tool proficiency: Maven or Gradle

  • Support for CI/CD pipelines Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or similar


Preferred:

  • Experience with NoSQL databases such as DynamoDB or Cassandra

  • Knowledge of API security standards such as OAuth2/JWT

  • Familiarity with cloud security best practices and compliance requirements


Overall Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, development, and deployment of enterprise microservices and APIs using Java supporting critical business workloads

  • Collaborate with product, architecture, and security teams to define solutions that are secure, scalable, and aligned to organizational standards

  • Optimize systems for high throughput, low latency, and security, ensuring reliable operation

  • Implement and support CI/CD pipelines for automated deployment and testing

  • Troubleshoot and resolve performance issues, security vulnerabilities, and system defects efficiently

  • Participate in architecture reviews, code quality audits, and security assessments

  • Support system upgrades, environment provisioning, and migration activities

  • Document system architecture, API specifications, security configurations, and deployment procedures

  • Promote best practices for microservice development, security, and automation to improve system resilience and agility

Programming Languages (Essential):

  • Java (version 8+), with experience in multithreading, API development, and microservice design


Frameworks & Libraries:

  • Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Data JPA, Hibernate

  • Microservices pattern, API Gateway handling, and security frameworks

  • Relational: MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server

  • Experience with containerized deployment and automation pipelines supported by CI/CD tools

  • Knowledge of cloud security, data privacy, and compliance frameworks (preferred)

  • Industry experience supporting regulated financial or banking systems is a plus


Day-to-Day Activities

  • Develop, deploy, and support microservices and REST APIs to support core business functions

  • Conduct performance tuning, scaling, and security hardening of systems

  • Collaborate with product owners, security, and architecture teams for solution delivery

  • Troubleshoot, analyze root causes, and implement fixes for system issues

  • Automate build and deployment workflows using CI/CD pipelines

  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of architecture, API specifications, and security standards

  • Participate in architecture reviews, code quality audits, and system health monitoring


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related discipline

  • 5+ years of experience supporting enterprise-scale Java microservices in cloud environments

  • Certifications such as AWS Solutions Architect, Docker & Kubernetes certifications are a plus

  • Proven experience supporting secure, reliable, and scalable enterprise applications
