Job Description

Who are we?

At Finastra, we’re a global leader in financial services software, dedicated to expanding access to financial services and shaping what’s next for the industry. Our technology powers mission‑critical solutions across Lending, Payments and Universal Banking, supporting over 7,000 customers, including 80% of the world’s top 50 banks, in more than 110 countries.

You will design and build core infrastructure components and microservice foundations used across multiple products. The role combines hands‑on Java engineering with deep knowledge of distributed systems, containerized environments, and platform‑level services.

What You’ll Work On

  • Design and implement microservices running on Kubernetes, focusing on performance, reliability, and resilience.
  • Build and maintain infrastructure layers such as service chassis/skeleton frameworks, security/encryption modules, authentication & authorization flows, and shared service libraries.
  • Develop and enhance infrastructure microservices (e.g., API Gateway, Rules Engine, Auditing, Messaging adapters, distributed caching layers).
  • Participate in architecture discussions and translate technical requirements into clean, scalable designs (including HLD/LLD documentation when needed).
  • Write clean, testable Java code with solid JUnit coverage; debug and resolve production issues efficiently.
  • Work closely with engineers across teams to ensure consistent implementation of platform patterns and standards.
  • Contribute to CI/CD, DevOps pipelines, observability, and runtime diagnostics.

Tech Stack You’ll Use

  • Java, Spring Boot, Spring Cloud
  • Kubernetes, Docker
  • Oracle DB, Kafka, distributed caching technologies
  • Messaging platforms ( MQ, Kafka, or similar)
  • Security frameworks, encryption libraries, API gateway technologies
  • Logging, tracing, and monitoring tooling (Prometheus, ELK, OpenTelemetry, etc.)

What You Bring

  • 4+ years building backend systems in Java, preferably distributed or microservice‑based architectures.
  • Strong experience developing microservices using Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, and running them in Kubernetes environments.
  • Hands‑on knowledge of Azure, containerization, and deployment best practices.
  • Solid understanding of distributed systems, messaging patterns, caching, and event‑driven architecture.
  • Ability to design and implement infrastructure components—not just business logic.
  • Familiarity with performance engineering, observability tools, and debugging in distributed environments.
  • Intermediate experience with DevOps workflows and automation.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills, ownership mindset, and willingness to dive deep into system internals.

Why This Role Is Interesting

  • You’ll build platform components that multiple teams depend on—not just features.
  • You’ll shape the engineering stack, patterns, and infrastructure foundations.
  • You’ll work with modern distributed systems at scale (microservices, Kubernetes, Kafka).
  • You’ll influence architecture, not just implement tickets.
