ING Hubs Romania offers 130 services in software development, data management, non-financial risk & compliance, audit, and retail operations to 24 ING units worldwide, with the help of 𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝟐𝟎𝟎𝟎 𝐡𝐢𝐠𝐡-𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐫𝐬, 𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐤, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐟𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐬.

We started out in 2015 as ING’s software development hub, then steadily expanded our range to include more services and competencies. Now we provide borderless services with bank-wide capabilities and 𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐭𝐰𝐨 𝐥𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬: 𝐁𝐮𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐂𝐥𝐮𝐣-𝐍𝐚𝐩𝐨𝐜𝐚.

The Mission

We're building a new team and we’re looking for skilled developers who are technically passionate, solution-oriented, and eager to contribute across the full software lifecycle — from design and development to test automation, production support, IT risk compliance, and platform hardening (security, stability, deployment).

Your day to day

You’ll be working on HALO, a critical in-house platform composed of reusable Spring Boot microservices deployed on OpenShift (Kubernetes). HALO supports multiple applications and teams, integrating with other ING services via REST, Kafka, MQ, and Service Discovery to deliver business value at scale.

What you’ll bring to the team

• You are familiar with modern architectures (microservices, even-driven architecture, integrations)

• You are familiar with (commodity) programming languages.

• You have good experience with Agile, Software development, DevOps, Project Management, or other approaches to software delivery.

• You have experience with:

  • Designing, Building and Enhancing Java Web Applications

  • Migrating functionality from legacy applications to modern Java Web Architecture

  • Web Frameworks: Java/ Springboot

  • SRE Tooling/ Monitoring/ Alerting: Grafana, Prometheus

  • Integration: Kafka, File Transfer, S3, MQ, REST APIs

  • Test Frameworks: Junit, Mockito, Selenium, Cucumber, PACT

  • Database/ ORM Frameworks: Oracle DB/ Hibernate

  • ElasticSearch (ELK Stack)

  • CI/CD: Azure DevOps

  • Kubernetes/ Openshift/ Docker

• Able to discuss incidents, changes with other service providers

• Supporting internal customers and Troubleshooting critical production issues acrossa platforms and applications as required

• Carry out production deployments, identifying and patching bugs and reducing inefficiencies

• You have exposure to multiple, diverse infrastructure, application and information technologies and processing environments.

• You know general IT risk controls (access controls, change controls, physical security)

• You have experience with Incident Management processes
