We are looking for a Java Developer to join our Rome-based team and contribute to the development of scalable backend applications.

You will work on internal platforms used to manage innovation and funded projects, collaborating closely with technical and consulting teams to translate complex business needs into robust technical solutions.

Your mission is to build reliable and scalable systems that support innovation processes, while bridging the gap between technical development and real business use cases in an international consulting environment.

Your tasks 1st part (in max 4 bullets)

  • Design, develop, and maintain Java-based applications and RESTful APIs
  • Collaborate with Product Owners, Technical PMs, and consultants to translate business needs into technical solutions
  • Contribute to platforms supporting R&D project management and reporting
  • Ensure code quality through testing, reviews, and best practices

  • Troubleshoot issues and continuously improve system performance
  • Contribute to architectural decisions and system evolution
  • Participate in deployment and release processes
  • Document technical solutions and support knowledge sharing

Your profile 1st part (in max 4 bullets)

  • Strong experience with Java (preferably version 8 or higher), with solid knowledge of OOP principles and design patterns
  • Experience with Spring Boot and the Spring ecosystem (Spring Data, Spring Security, etc.)
  • Experience designing and building RESTful APIs
  • Good knowledge of SQL and relational databases (e.g. PostgreSQL, MySQL)

  • Familiarity with version control systems (Git) and build tools (Maven or Gradle)
  • Experience with testing frameworks (e.g. JUnit, Mockito)
  • Understanding of software architecture principles (e.g. microservices, layered architecture)
