Job Location: 100% remote in Romania

Builds and maintains backend services in Java/Spring, working with relational databases and messaging systems.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain backend services and APIs using Java, Spring Boot, and Hibernate
• Integrate with messaging systems (JMS/MQ) and build RESTful services
• Write and maintain unit and integration tests
• Ensure Java coding best practices are followed across the codebase
• Produce technical design documentation
• Work with relational databases (PostgreSQL, Oracle, or DB2) for data design and queries

Required

• 3+ years of Java software development experience
• Strong hands-on experience with Spring Framework, Spring Boot, and Hibernate
• Experience building RESTful web services and working with messaging systems (JMS/MQ)
• SQL and relational database experience (PostgreSQL, Oracle, or DB2)
• Experience writing unit and integration tests
• Good communication skills (called out as a must-have in the input)

Preferred

• Exposure to CI/CD pipelines for cloud environments (Jenkins, SonarQube, Docker)
• Comfortable using AI tools to support analysis, documentation, and process improvement
