LUMINAR is an all-in-one external threat intelligence solution for CTI, DRP, and EASM. It combines an AI-powered platform that automates large-scale threat discovery, correlation, and prioritization with an embedded proactive expert human layer that delivers tailored threat intelligence, aligns findings to business risk and priorities, guides response, and supports remediation.

We are looking for an exceptional and passionate Experienced Backend Engineer to join our BE development team in Sofia, Bulgaria

As a Cognyter you will:

• Design, develop, and deploy microservices for handling and analyzing massive volumes of data over a distributed environment, including data pipelines and services that support analytics and AI‑driven capabilities, with a focus on high availability, low latency, and scalability
• Work using Scrum as part of a collaborative and friendly team
• Collaborate closely with Product Owners, Architects, and Software Engineers across multiple countries to define, design, and solve complex technical challenges, including challenges related to data quality, enrichment, and intelligent automation
• Take part in technical decisions and strategy, influencing the long‑term product and technology vision, including introducing and evolving AI‑based backend capabilities where relevant
• Contribute to the design, architecture, and continuous refactoring of the platform, with an emphasis on scalable, cloud‑native, and AI‑ready architecture
• Have a strong passion for Java, you will be an open-minded, tech-savvy developer who is enthusiastic about learning and working with a variety of technologies including modern data platforms and applied AI technologies

Requirements

For that mission you’ll need:

• At least 5 years’ hands-on experience in Java (Spring Framework an advantage)
• Hands-on experience building microservices in cloud (preferably GCP/AWS/Azure) environments using cloud native technologies (such as: Kubernetes, Docker)
• Experience in designing and implementing large-scale distributed systems using technologies such as Apache Kafka, ActiveMQ, or similar
• Experience with relational databases (preferably PostgreSQL/MySQL)
• Experience with Elasticsearch
• Strong understanding of testing methodologies with a focus on ensuring code quality, reliability, and scalability in production environments
• Familiarity with AI/ML workloads execution (an advantage)
